vale9001 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 (edited) Anyways the insider true or not explained with rep reference means the pop Songs are like noisy ...not they are edm dance or the same genre...this is why red Is also cited and its pop songs have a different sound from rep. Its only reference to sound and not "Mood" is 70s rock and alt pop. The real thing you should get from this insider is the album is pop, so kinda 3-4 minutes songs (and not these 6-7 minutes songs someone wanted like for skip now) not it sounds like rep or pop Red. mael Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Where are the girls who were looking forward to and hoping the Post Malone collab would be a serve like the Beyonce one? Our sis doesn't have the vernacular when it comes to collabs.... 1

Back in the day, @bluebirdsforever teased that "Maroon" was like a rep ballad when the song's entire conceit is being a lyrical and sonic reflection on Red. So I can see it.
Starchild Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Why would rep sound with red lyrics be bad? Idgi with the meltdowns at all. also sorry I haven't responded to my quotes I've been busy but I've missed y'all 2

1989 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I hope TTPD has at least one Last Kiss-esque masterpiece, 6+ min long and everything. 3

Things can change, but she's made a lot of pop music in the past decade, and it's kinda all been in the sonic realm that she herself likes to consume (see her fuckass playlists over the years). There's not much else here for her to make in that vein, so unless she's going to venture out into more niche sounds of pop (which I wouldn't mind at all), I have to wonder (and hope) that the well has run dry TS12 is arena rock and TS13 is country and TS14 is more country, I'm putting it out into the world 1 1

1989 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I can't even begin to let myself imagine a Speak Now + Evermore hybrid. The perfection would simply be too much.

I'll be kind of surprised if neither So Long, London nor I Can Do It With A Broken Heart are like that description. The former in particular seems like our best shot, from titles alone. Possibly either of Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? or The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived too, again based solely on title, but something tells me the latter could actually be a snarkier track like This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things. 1

vale9001 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 It's not gonna sound anything like rep and we are never ever. Being serious now 1
TROPICUM Posted April 9 Posted April 9 og country fans praying a country comeback when they were already rewarded with her magnus opus evermore... that's the type of greed they talk about in the bible 4
folkloreking Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Yeah I'm choosing not to believe the comparisons to rep. "Insiders" / secret sessioners are famously horrible at describing sounds, see: IFTYE the pop SOG. Like what…?

vale9001 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 (edited) The insider: describe every song with 70s rock influences and as alt pop. You: oh rep and Red if nothing that reminds of lover and Midnights cause you know the same insider after all says dessner and antonoff are producers, not max Martin. The insider basically is saying this is midnights (so She continues with pop influenced by alt alternative rock) but the sound is not essentialist like that but big choruses. Also i assume dessner tracks are more rock and less acoustics than 3.AM. Edited April 9 by vale9001 1
PoisonedIvy Posted April 9 Posted April 9 The unnecessary meltdowns, oh reputation you will ALWAYS be famous. I'd kill for songs in the vein of Delicate, So It Goes, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, So It Goes, but with elevated lyrics and rougher emotions. I for one welcome our insider, fraud or not, as this tea is much more exciting and volatile than Teneo's "Rhodeo Haven" and "Tonight We Cross KKK" 5
Cruel Summer Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Now one thing that I WILL be doing on release day is finding some way to listen to those bonus tracks (I didn't manage to order the CDs, fake Swiftie I know). I didn't hear RWYLM for MONTHS, until it went up on streaming, and I figured it was fine, like a dumb little clown. And then when I finally heard it, it ended me so hard I'm still recovering and it's my favorite song of all time I can NOT make that mistake again!
