"Karma is a cat" is one of her most Shakespearean lyrics. I've never understood why it's used as an example of "bad songwriting.” The exits pursued by bear bard was in possession of her quill pen when she was writing that one!

I fear for the unpacking of "You don't need to save me, but will you runaway with me?", especially in the context of the Time POTY interview and the whole "I moved to a different country to avoid my problems" angle :deadbanana4:

Swiftism practitioners, I think we're eating good lyrically :jonny5:

The undoing of the Delicate/KOMH/CIWYW side of Reputation would, lyrically, be one of the most fascinating things she's ever done with an album. It definitely seems like she's come to look back on the hiding out phase of her life a lot less positively than she did at the time, and honestly I can't blame her for thinking she wanted that back then with the things she seemed to be going through post-Snakegate.

Like, let me state outright for the record that I adore Midnights and think it's her best *POP album, but after the lyrics and themes we have, and regardless of the alleged insider tea, I fear TTPD is coming to stomp it, a straight upgrade from her last studio record.

I actually don't believe any of this but it's fun to meltdown anyway because that's also tradition

We've really hit the Mariana's Trench when it comes to expectations huh? Just accepting mediocrity and complacency… I blame MIDnights…

IDK about that. She hasn't yet served us any tea as disastrously memorable and iconic as "lyrics that could cut glass" (Gorgeous) or "pop State of Grace" (IFTYE) or "it goes hard and then soft and then hard again" (LWYMMD).

Also, I personally AM streaming Reputa in celebration of our little tea party, and let me just say - I forgot just how good it feels to blast LWYMMD in certain scenarios and I will be using this rediscovered power in the workplace as I prepare for next week
