She clearly isnt ready to talk about it and hasnt even performed it live (the only song from Folklore that she hasnt performed). Its clear to me whatever happened here sent her to a depressed state of mind, but even in that state, she would rather feel sad with him "no other sadness would do" than breaking up. The bridge talks a bit of how big of a deal this was "you know it still hurts underneath my scars from when they tore me apart, BUT WHAT YOU DID WAS JUST AS DARK" - wow. If that's not revealing of the amount of pain she is feeling I dont what is. She wasnt ready to talk about what that grave incident was but maybe she'll give us a clue in TTPD. Maybe the "twisted knife" and "slight of hand" gives a clue that is was some kind of deep betrayal, but I really need more answers asap - also interesting that the twisted knife becomes a dagger that's been put in her on Tolerate It... Also we can now rewrite history that Death My A Thousand Cuts can definitely be about Joe, there are so many links to other Lover songs and Reputation, from the traffic lights being street signs, to her body her thighs being linked to Dress, "Paper Cut stings from paper thin plans" links to Paper Rings (also "gave you too much but it wasnt enough", also "Gave Up On Me Like I Was A Bad Drug" definitely links to Dont Blame Me. We are having to relearn this song A reverse wambsgans moment 2

selena_lavigne Posted April 6 Posted April 6 My thing with Olivia Rodrigo is that i think we have very similar writing styles when it comes to writing about relationships and i should give her credit for making me think the idea for AirPods was good enough. And Olivia Rodrigo sang a similar melody to Cruel Summer on Deja Vu.

The narrative of her albums were totally clear and understood before Joe became her muse. Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights. Every album have some lie and second layer in it, she has promoted them oddly. TTPD gives me strong Joeover pure heartbreak finally spill the tea vibe. But all that she's giving us right now is cryptic poetic bullsh*t I just know that 13 management saw pinterest and tiktok crowning Red, folklore and evermore as super aesthetic dark academia sadness cult classic and pushed for this form again. Hide contents And I'd be lying if I say I'm not totally into it She's assuming the role of the tortured poet. I actually think it's a little more snarky and ironic than people think. And if the correlation with THAT group chat name is true, then there's also an added layer of mockery of that pretentiousness that he seems to exhude. The tagline of the album being: " All's fair in love and poetry. " Taken obviously from "All is fair in love and war", ie, there is no holding back anymore or playing nice and hiding my truth behind veils of fiction and promotional misdirections. "I enter the evidence..", she's ready to bear it all and present her case to a judge & jury. In a way you're right about all her albums during their relationship being mystified but that's clearly not the case anymore. It's literally #Joever. Edited April 6 by Mandalore 3 1

Only 1989's were fun, they became tired by Rep, and completely insufferable with Lover. I can't even imagine the mess that'd happen if she does them again at this stage in her career. yeah with the current state of the fanbase (pejorative) the best thing is to not do secret sessions again, and occasionally interact here and there through her socials Spoiler a Gaga abandoning the fanbase after ARTPOP tea 1 2

Cruel Summer Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Speaking of SYGB I would kind of live for a full album that sounded like that, and the fact that she would never do that actually makes me sad. Poor TTPD, I'm already setting her up 1

Mandalore Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Dating a Swiftie is overrated. I met my ex because he shared his Spotify wrapped and she was his top artist (I thought he was straight). In a lot of ways, he was my own version of Joe. 1 1
State of Grace. Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I converted many friends to Swiftism in 2020-2021 with the 1-2-3 punch of folklore-evermore-Red TV but their OTH gene was too strong with Midnights. They really believed that transitioned into becoming a female Bon Iver/Hozier or some ****. I hope PTSD allows me to get the aux again 5

vale9001 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 She invented the SS cause She was scared as **** to change her music with 1989. People here of course after the album huge success love to say "It was an easy success and no a surprise it did good" but we all know It was a very risky move. Not because with the right amount of payola the songs were at the risk of a flop but because the risk was to alienate her audience or a big part of It (see what happened to ed Sheeran after the post divide record) so to lose them and remaining with nothing once the gp audience are not interested to a mainstream pop artist anymore (after 1-2 albums). So she tried everything to tell her fans, critics etc...the album was personal even if pop so both for 1989 and rep She did that (the demos at the end of 1989 are there for the same reason. Like she kinda did an SS event with grammy voters before the cerimony to tell them about the Songs, how She wrote tem, to tell them i wrote "the players gonna play play play play") Now She doesn't need something like that cause 1) the mistery about the genre is part of the buzz 2) She realized people would buy an album full of farts. 2
