Yeah they happened for Lover too :gaycat6:

I remember being so excited after we found out one had happened and learned all about the album and just random stuff that had happened :deadbanana4:

I'll never forget the girl who stole Taylor's bathroom hand soap and never told us what the brand or scent was :gaycat6:

The mention of secret sessions immediately triggered a flashback for me when someone said IFTYE had lyrics that could "cut glass"

A secret session for Midnights would be so chaotic bc people would be like "Question is Midnights's OOTW" and we would get so hyped just to hear… whatever that song is.

I cant get over Hoax, that song is so "rock bottom" and is so Joe coded that I NEED an explanation Taylor. She clearly isnt ready to talk about it and hasnt even performed it live (the only song from Folklore that she hasnt performed). Its clear to me whatever happened here sent her to a depressed state of mind, but even in that state, she would rather feel sad with him "no other sadness would do" than breaking up. The bridge talks a bit of how big of a deal this was "you know it still hurts underneath my scars from when they tore me apart, BUT WHAT YOU DID WAS JUST AS DARK" - wow. If that's not revealing of the amount of pain she is feeling I dont what is. She wasnt ready to talk about what that grave incident was but maybe she'll give us a clue in TTPD. Maybe the "twisted knife" and "slight of hand" gives a clue that is was some kind of deep betrayal, but I really need more answers asap - also interesting that the twisted knife becomes a dagger that's been put in her on Tolerate It...

Also we can now rewrite history that Death My A Thousand Cuts can definitely be about Joe, there are so many links to other Lover songs and Reputation, from the traffic lights being street signs, to her body her thighs being linked to Dress, "Paper Cut stings from paper thin plans" links to Paper Rings (also "gave you too much but it wasnt enough", also "Gave Up On Me Like I Was A Bad Drug" definitely links to Dont Blame Me. We are having to relearn this song

I mean wasn't IFTYE "pop State of Grace" :deadbanana4:

This one still haunts me omg. Like....the ******* AUDACITY. A few other highlights were:

INTHAF being called "a childish song/worse than ME!"

Cornelia Street being overhyped to the highest heavens as "the new ATW!!"

The Man being "one of the best songs on the album!!!"

Miss Americana and Afterglow being "forgettable"

False God being a "political song"

:suburban:

I'm glad she stopped doing them tbh. Only 1989's were fun, they became tired by Rep, and completely insufferable with Lover. I can't even imagine the mess that'd happen if she does them again at this stage in her career.

I agree I hate hearing people's incorrect opinions and interpretations especially nowadays when the conspiracy theories are off the charts :suburban:

I still get PTSD from when a secret sessioner said that IFTYE was the pop State of Grace. Their comment made me so excited just for her to randomly reference drake in it over an underwhelming cheesy beat :suburban:

if PTSD had secret sessions there would 100% someone that would say "fortnight is like ...ready for it but with an alt-rock edge"- and they would be wrong :rip:

I still wonder if there's really an important reason for this album to be pretentiously named THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT and how much of it really fits the theme.
The narrative of her albums were totally clear and understood before Joe became her muse. Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights. Every album have some lie and second layer in it, she has promoted them oddly.

TTPD gives me strong Joeover pure heartbreak finally spill the tea vibe. But all that she's giving us right now is cryptic poetic bullsh*t :alexz2: I just know that 13 management saw pinterest and tiktok crowning Red, folklore and evermore as super aesthetic dark academia sadness cult classic and pushed for this form again.

Spoiler

And I'd be lying if I say I'm not totally into it :WAP:

I know I'm 24 but brutal by olivia rodrigo kinda sh*t on Taylor Swift's whole career.

I was so ready to stan when that album came out SO READY and it just wasn't for me and it was disappointing. But i will never forget my 3 minutes of stanning Olivia Rodrigo who sampled a song from reputation.

If Taylor invited me to a PTSD secret session, I would just post something totally unhinged and wrong to mess up with the fandom :ryan3:
"So Long, London is her most boring track 5 ever"
"on Florida!!! Florence is only doing goofy moans in the background"
"I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) is a sexy song about Matty"
"The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived is about Donald Trump"

the dreams i wanted to pursue

thrown away for days at home

all alone, writing fvck1ng poems

about things i'll never do

just to fvck1ing stay with you?

well i'm fvck1ng through

(i may have gonna overboard w the f-bombs but cmon i want her to be FUMING on this record)
