PoisonedIvy Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Apparently Taylor wrote on every single song on this album, I have it on good authority 1
wastedpotential Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) Oh absolutely not people trying to rehab ME! (even in jest, because that's how it always starts). I was on board when we were arguing that Look was actually a cunty mission statement designed to eradicate the KKK (Kim, Kanye, Katy, not Kern/Killer Kern) and was thoroughly on board with dragging its reputation out of the mud and into the light (hell, that pre-chorus alone deserves a lot more recognition than it ever got), but ME!'s reputation can sit at the bottom of the Marianas Trench where it belongs. Let's all agree, in perpetuity, that ME! is a bad song that deserves to be lost to time and forgotten as the years progress and Taylor releases more and more and more music. That being said, in a post-Todrick world, I do believe that Only The Young is the most... offensively bad song in her discography and is actually far worse than ME! (though she's still sitting in the #2 spot). Edited April 6 by wastedpotential

I'm always worried that one day it's not gonna be satire and we'll have deluded ourselves into thinking it's a good song. This may be a cesspool of the most deranged practitioners of Swiftism, but we have to hold some core standards, and one of those HAS to be that ME! is bottom of the barrel. One day we're going to be in a screaming contest with Liddo's or the Hive or Arianators, and someone is going to try to pull the "Akchewelly, ME! is a good song!" card, and we're just... over. Credibility = LOST. It barely works for Look these days, and we've been working on that one for years, and as I said, Look has the incredibly cunty pre-chorus that everyone loves, even if they can't admit it. Swiftism is too central to my identity to see y'all squander it and its fruits on trying to convince everyone (let alone yourselves, let alone ME! ()) that ME! is a good song. Spoiler Yes, I am drunk tonight, because the recipe I made for dinner called for a generous pour of red wine and what I bought was corked, so I've been taking care of the rest of the bottle over the past few hours while crying to Taylor music videos, why do you ask? Mdawg Posted April 6 Posted April 6 This is probably me clowning, but when I look at Apple Music it says the album is coming 4/21? What if it's a glitch for the 3am version release date…

What if it's a glitch for the 3am version release date… They always do this with album releases because of timezone issues. Since it's getting released at Midnight EST on the 19th, they have to set the release date to not trigger for Midnight New Zealand time. It's just a quirk of their system, but it's happened for every Taylor album she's released directly onto AM.

PoisonedIvy Posted April 6 Posted April 6 She averages about 3-400K likes on her tweets, the higher end usually landing around the 750K+ range. I'm sure this tweet will end up around 500K likes when all is said and done

Stay Stay Stay and A Perfectly Good Heart round out the bottom five. Only The Young is awful and definitely in the bottom ten, but even it can't crack that truly rotten bottom five.

Now see, I think there are redeeming qualities to Garbageous that elevate it into the bottom 11-20 range. I can agree that London Food Pantry Donee is a real stinker, but at least it was written earnestly and the hook melody is groovy.... **** **** **** and A Perfectly Unstreamable Composition are also atrocious (though I kinda love the guitar runs at the end of APGH nnn), but I truly feel like Only The Young came from the same pit of insecurity that Todrick instilled in Taylor: that she wasn't doing enough politically and had to make songs pandering to basic political impulses, and where YNTCD is saved by a slick bassline, OTY is ruined by Joel Little and his children's choir. Lord must've been on... something when she decided to write a song for the political discouraged youths of America who live their lives under threat of school shootings and Trump with those flat-footed lyrics. I can understand what she wanted to achieve, but I also know she only ever bothered in the first place because her annoying friend told her she needed to, and I find that thought infuriating, on top of the heavy handed lyrics and the dumpy production choices. Thank GOD it's been totally forgotten (except for that one Filipino election nnnnn), because it's truly the most embarrassing thing Lord has ever released for public consumption. 2

Tusk Posted April 6 Posted April 6 She released "You're Losing Me" as a prophecy for her weak TTPD sales. A new fan anthem to her. She's a mastermind.

Cruel Summer Posted April 6 Posted April 6 It's okay if TTPD flops as long as it's as good as her other flop. Oh Lord please bless me with more Evermore scripture (screaming that her "flop" album is still over 8m units WW and this one will be halfway to that number in like a week) 1
