scottstreet Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Speaking of Lover, looking in retrospect, this album has some SERIOUS anxiety attached to it I don't wanna keep secrets just to keep you And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends, That's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever? We're so sad, we paint the town blue And I can't talk to you when you're like this Staring out the window like I'm not your favorite town Taylor was going through it and didn't even realize, these are NOT good feelings to have in a relationship lol 3 1

TROPICUM Posted April 5 Posted April 5 the way lover was actually her most depressive album lyrically but no one saw beyond the glitter and pink aesthetic

BloodLuster Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Lover becoming a sad and depressing album was not on my bingo card
Life Savers Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) Loser about to be acclaimed in retrospective as a misunderstood work of art on relationship anxiety. Edited April 5 by Life Savers 2
kharijthedog Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I had to RUN to this thread when I saw the playlists nnn Now how do I tell my mom that Lover is actually a sad album since she likes to play that in the car
1989 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I never saw Lover as a 100% 'love album' just like I don't see it now as a 100% 'depression album'. I've always seen it as an album about a mix of being in love but also being anxious about a lot of things in life, with love being one of them. 1

PoisonedIvy Posted April 5 Posted April 5 What better time than now to release "Me… (Piano Version)” 1 2
PoisonedIvy Posted April 5 Posted April 5 This is the version we should've gotten.. How could we be so blind? Our girl was SUFFERING internally and had to offset that with an emotional overcorrection that became the sugar infested "ME!” we got.
PoisonedIvy Posted April 5 Posted April 5 "I never wanna see you walk away.. (cause there's a lot of lame guys out there)” Youre right she felt like she NEEDED their relationship to work out Oh ME! the psychological operation you were…

Looking back it might be her best and introspective track! 1
pinkbowvintage Posted April 5 Posted April 5 ugh not her forcing us to re-contextualize her entire discography, adding more depth to it....her mind 2

Oh GODnights the holy bible that you are.. 4

PoisonedIvy Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I'm BEGGING and PLEADING for a song like Renegade on this album 1
PoisonedIvy Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Her bargaining being: "I'd give you my wild, give you a child.. give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other" Yeah she would've done anything for a man that wouldn't do anything for her, oh I'm angry for her. We ride at dawn

Stick to listening to Selena babes. Love On and Single Soon should be easy enough concepts for you to understand 1
