Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'

This is by far her least exciting rollout ever. :deadbanana2:

And she used to be known as the queen of album rollouts, with the most exciting build-ups to an album… how the mighty have fallen.

I can understand this. Yes, this rollout is not the most exciting. All we have is the track names and the variants reveal. I would love if she actually did something now that we're getting closer, like sharing what the songs are about, what are her inspirations musically etc...

That said, I'm a firm believer that getting no music before the album is the best way to appreciate the album. Getting into it with no idea what is going to hit you is just delicious. The months before the release feel like hell, but the release day is just that much more glorious.

I think she has something prepared for the release week.

We might've gotten the track reveal if it hadn't leaked until then. If you think of it, the only difference between Midnights and this one is two videos talking about Anti-Hero and Lavender Haze, otherwise it wouldn't be that different from it.

Oh I 100% believe that the tracklist leaking took away something from us. That's why I, from the bottom of my heart, profoundly hate the person responsible for the leak. I can't imagine the absolute gag of receiving these titles one by one and each being more of a gag that the previous one.

Like imagine her announcing the title "But Daddy, I Love Him". I would **** myself. :deadbanana4:

Knowing her petty self, I can see her doing a dramatic eye-roll after saying the title or even a fake gag. :dies: We were really robbed.

Claiming The Lobotomy to be a Paulo Cuelho'd snoozefest.

Happy she isn't saying anything. The issue with Midnights is that people read too much into some of the things she said/did and had specific expectations which hindered their experience with the album as a whole. I'm not arguing it's a better album than it is but I think people set themselves up and were more disappointed in return. Personally I'm digging this more lowkey approach, let the songwriting speak for itself.

Also agree with this. She's also been so ubiquitous and inescapable since the tour started that Midnight and TTPD don't even feel that spaced-out as eras even though it's over a year and a half between them. It makes it harder for the always tuned-in stans to manage the wait but it's better for the casuals & the GP to have a little "oh yeah! she kinda disappeared after the super bowl!".

People complain about her overexposition

People complain about the silent roll out

The two things are linked. She doesn't need exposition and titles when she's already kinda overexposed. Every week and even every day more everything is quiet makes the gp less "tired" for the album release. It's not like when you come back After 3 years and you release a new single and then people are still interested for an entire month at the hints and Little news and everything.

Here if She goes on the news now there Is a risk someone is annoyed before of two weeks. In this phase imo is very important to manage the "silence" strategy with more attention and precision.

And all of you well know the album First week Is gonna smash. The real thing makes you annoyed is you can't wait anymore :suburban:

I agree I like the intrigue and lack of spoilers!

Do the little Klossers have any delusions about these titles this era, the way I'm still traumatized from their insistence on Lavender Haze being queer coded :deadbanana4:

Theres just no way they can translate "But Daddy I Love Him" and "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” into wlw interpretations, and yet I know somehow they will

I got back from my shift and this is what I learned from the last couple of pages:
1. Taylor will be blocked by Hozier and PTSD will flop miserably
2. Karma is better than every song on folklore
3. Chicken is being delievered inside an oven
4. Fortnight surprise drop at midnight
5. this thread should be closed

I get the lack of excitement due to being over-fed these past few years, combined with the lack of details and pre-release promo (which I find pretty useless these days since the biggest releases are usually surprise ones), having said that, we ALL know damn TOO WELL that we'll be seated, hitting play the second it drops (especially us lucky AM users since we'll already be at track 5 at the supposed release time) and eating every single lyric and melody she blesses us with...

Swifties are to blame for this. Don't buy the vinyls from the get go ya'll. Let her and team scramble a bit

Not going through 534 pages, but does anyone know what type of sound the single and album will be like? What genre? Do we know any info?
