Truly the post that kept on posting

:clack:

I do have better things to do with my time but that doesn't mean I'm actually going to do them. Essaying about Taylor is literally my only hobby at this point :deadbanana2:

OT I hope there is a song or two on this album that makes me feel like I'm sitting in a small log cabin during a torrential rainstorm, or hoax-core :ryan3:

@wastedpotential I get such a kii out of you sis (as if my reactions don't reflect that). Your evisceration of So It Goes — a song I actually like — gave me LIFE

OT: The Tortured Poets Department is an upcoming album by singer/songwriter Taylor Swift expected on April 19, 2024

lysm sister :heart2: there's truly nothing I'd rather do than just spew absolute bullshit in long-form about Taylor Swift music on the internet and I'm so glad that there are places like this that allow me to do so fsjldkfjs

OT: I hope The Thesaurus Proofreader's Department gags the girls who are seemingly afraid of a good 10 letter word. Verbose Taylor is top-tier Taylor (I mean, name anyone else on the planet capable of working the word 'machiavellian' into a pop song... I dare you), and even the song that most people degrade for its flowery language, The L-[not a TTPD song so I can't name it nnn] is literally inspired by Romantic era poetry which I'm sure we can anticipate on TTPD :ryan3:

Thank you to whoever reported the ranking I did! I won't take this ranking thing any further so I guess we'll end on Track 7.

I hope you know you're miserable enough to ruin other people's fun

OT: TTPD is a Taylor Swift album that will come out in 22 days.

**** these rats, they can rot and should get banned from the thread, this is one of the best and most practical ways to pass the time currently, instead of the usual meltdowns and certain genres of redundant and useless discussions…

Ok, now let's rank reputation's embarrassments then:

1. 12 weeks in the top 10 vs her other pop albums that spent 58+ weeks in the top 10

2. 9 total weeks in the hot 100's top ten vs her other pop albums that have a song spend 24+ weeks in the top 10

3. Biggest radio hit failed to outpeak Vigilante ****, If This Was A Movie and Jump Then Fall

4. Gorgeous

5. Her worst closer ever

6. Her only pop album that didn't make the year-end top 10 multiple times

7. Her only pop album with no year-end top 20 single

8. Longest charting song couldn't outchart Our Song

9. Her only pop album with no GF Grammy nomination

10. Her lowest metacritic score aside from Mixtape

:ryan3:

What a quality post, heavy on #4.

If Gorgeous has no haters, I'm dead!

Spoiler

I don't even care if I get reported tbh. I will say this, though: you never see L0ser stans exhibiting this jobless behavior.

Here we are again in the Deranged Swiffers Department :biblio: New Year's Day is the most fitting song from reputation to close the album and it's a great song overall, which perfectly ends the album on a dark, but hopeful note.

There's glitter on the floor after the party
Girls carrying their shoes down in the lobby
Candle wax and Polaroids on the hardwood floor
You and me from the night before

Shivers every time I hear that :allears:

MasterPIECE is one of the most sophisticated storytelling / lyrical theme ever put on a song, accompanied by mega expensive sounding synths that deliver an ambient soundscape that is flexible enough to slickly turn dramatic at times correlating with what's being said

I can confirm Plasterdrying is indeed her most boring, uneventful, uninspired, drab, dull, and meaningless closing track.

I hate that there's no Tortured Ranking Department meeting for closing tracks since we're going by track #s which won't line up with albums ends

I went into a low-hype, low posting phase right before Midnights, and I feel that way now, but I'm starting to get that feeling - there's a different energy in the air now, TTPD is absolutely coming for blood

I used to hate Mastermid but I switched after Eras ngl

Still, we hate New Year's Bore even more for what she did to Long Live in the puta tour

Need someone to dig up that anime gif of a girl that keeps getting hit by multiple footballs (that we used A LOT in the froyo gate thread) and TTPD-ify it

I really hope Taylor's album is a little bit pop... because then there is nothing to look forward to for the rest of the year (music wise). I have only liked Ariana's album so far which i can enjoy on repeat. The beyonce album is meh.

Come on Taylor dont disappoint us.

Well, even though we have a couple of party poopers creeping around this thread, I want to thank everyone that backed me up on this. I'll be moving our daily ranking to base, so keep that in mind if you want to keep participating!

Again, thank you guys, it's very fun to be a part of this with you

Now see I do not agree with this opinion (my opinion is that her boring closer is Taylor Wakes Up Hungover And Uses Her Amex To Scrape Wax Off Her Floors With A Failed Actor Standing Over Her Shoulder Telling Her How She's Doing It Wrong) but these nicknames please I scrihmed. Get her again for me girls!
