1989 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 1. Mirrorball 2. You Belong With Me 3. But Daddy I Love Him 4. Mean 5. Midnight Rain 6. Look What You Made Me Do 7. Shake It Off 8. I Think He Knows 9. No Body, No Crime 10. 22 11. The Outside I love Mean, but if we're being honest, she's only captured 10/10 Track 6 excellence twice. But Daddy I Love Him was one of the first TTPD titles I spiraled posted a theory about when the tracklist was 'officially' posted, so I have high hopes for it.

1989 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 1 minute ago, By the Water said: Should we warn them about him or just let them find out on their own? Nnnn I just looked in the Beyoncé album thread. @stupidjock has already tried to tell him and he's denying it, saying he wasn't wrong about "much" Taylor info, just some. They better get to ranking. 1
pinkbowvintage Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I have so much trouble ranking her tracks because it's like ranking apples and oranges. Like. Different moods, different vibes, different times I need/love them. I will try for six though based on my own personal taste: 1. mirrorball (gorgeous amazing Jack really snapped here) 2. 22 (a timeless BOP!) 3. Midnight Rain (idk it just works for me especially that final chorus where they layered the vocals) 4. LWYMMD (an unexpected bop tho I have to be in the mood~) 5. no body no crime (love the storytelling) 6. Shake It Off (a bop but overplayed to death) 7. I Think He Knows (underrated little bop) 8. Mean (a cute lil' banger tho a tiny bit cringe) 9. You Belong With Me (another overplayed classic that I just can't love anymore because I've heard it 1000000000000000x) 10. The Outside (sorry sis it's cute but eh)

wastedpotential Posted March 27 Posted March 27 1. mirrorball 2. You Belong With Me 3. Look What You Made Me Do 4. Midnight Rain 5. But Daddy, I Love Him [NEW] 6. 22 7. Shake It Off 8. I Think He Knows 9. The Outside 10. Mean 11. no body, no crime What an interesting collection of songs, ranging from all-timers to some weak lewser tracks I don't engage with much 11/10s: coronation orb is a discography highlight to end all discography highlights, I think I might put it in the top 5 of her entire discography. There's something about the shimmering guitars and production choices that makes it sound like a Beatles song that's made the trip to and back from Heaven after receiving God's blessing. Of all of Taylor's biggest, most career-defining hits, I think that You Belong With Jesus is my favorite. There's something evergreen and timeless in its melody and instrumentation, something universal in its lyrical sentiment. If I had to distill Lord's career down to just one hit song, I think this would be my choice. This is a graduations, weddings, funerals, sporting events song with limitless appeal, and the American and Filipino people treat it as such if only we can gaslight the Euros into doing the same. It also gets points for being her most improved (Whitney's Version) hit, and for being her first hit for the re-recording to out-stream the original. When Taylor finishes her Super Bowl performance with a declaration that she is carrying out a coup to depose the government of the United States, I want the crowd to sing this back to her in praise as her supporters carry out her will* 10/10s: Oh and if I said that Look Whose Careers You Made Me End was the peak celebrity moment of the second half of the 2010s (and rivaled Miley's 2013 VMAs performance for top overall). She had the people speaking, and yes the discourse wasn't... positive and this was a very polarizing song, but I had literally 50 different conversations with 50 different people about Lord and this song the week it came out - she was everywhere for such a concentrated period of time in a way that I don't think has been matched since. That being said, the production work, especially the tension built throughout the pre-chorus, is a masterclass in why Jack Antonoff is a Holy Worker, and the video was the standard against which all other western music videos are held regarding quality, budget, and cultural impact; and is why all (except maybe WAP lol) come up short. Drake tried to have a Look moment with his own I'm Too Sexy sampling, but that crashing and burning shows just how strong Look really was. Killing Kim, Kanye, and Katy in one go (and the old Taylor on top of that) was such a moment. Midnights Praise is maybe a bit more beloved by the fanbase than is warranted, but oh it was a strong moment. I love a good callback to Drew Dunlap (and yes I occasionally stalk his wife on Instagram, what about it?), and while I don't need her to pitch-shift her vocals to this extent again, I'm glad we got to hear her take on a MBDTF song. 9/10s: I really believe that 22x platinum is her best known song in comparison to its commercial performance. It wasn't a huge seller or a huge streamer or a huge radio hit, but it is known. Lord made a Birthday Classic™, and I felt so beloved listening to it while I was 22. Another piece of evidence that Taylor truly understands me and everything I feel, ever. That being said, I think it would be a 10 if she'd kept the original bridge in the song, though I have a good approximation for what the melody would be and thus occasionally sing it. Stream It Again, for being Taylor's single most successful song, is insanely, insanely catchy. I've said before that it was genetically fabricated in a laboratory in Sweden to be the single most catchy pop song of all time. Sure, the lyrics aren't Pulitzer worthy, but the layering of the percussive elements in the mix is the finest work Max Martin has ever done for anyone. It's hated by girls who fail to apply critical thinking of its merits beyond the lyrics. 8/10s: I Doubt He Knows This Song is a song that exists in her discography. It is the sixth track from her seventh studio album 'Lover'. It is enjoyable to listen to, but that is not an activity I frequently engage in. There are parts of Lavender Haze that remind me of this song, but despite me probably liking this more than Lavender Haze, I think the elements in question are done better there. That one fan-made lyric video that did the rounds on Twitter was quite excellent though, I must say. I can't wait until we get The Outsider (Kelly's Version) because it's an exhibition of some of Lord's sharpest pen strokes, and that melody is very instant. It just needs a thorough vocal upgrade and a clean-up of the mix. I hope Christopher Rowe doesn't **** up the harmonies in the second verse. I anticipate it will jump into her top 6 after the release of Taylor Swift (Mariah's Version). 7/10s: Mehn has never been one of my favorites. I love the thought of Lord getting so angry with a D-rate mid 50s blogger that she writes a diss track about him and then makes it a single (one that would go on to win many Grammys), but this leans into elements from Nashville that I've never really gotten on board with. I can't rank this any higher or lower because it's objectively a well written song with a good top-line, but every time I listen I am reminded of that performance of Rhiannon and... yeah. no streams, no success is such a letdown. It's a Country Murder Ballad from Lord featuring HAIM and... it turned out like that. I need Taylor to march her ass back into the studio with the Haim sisters and that concept front of mind, and I need her to take another stab at it. Until then, this is an immense letdown. However, by the merits of it being on evermore, it still warrants a very positive score. Spoiler *obviously a joke, please, no one come after me I will say these were easier to rank than yesterday's tracks, probably because I have much less emotion attachment to everything outside the top 3. 2
