Redstreak Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Spoiler Hot take the only reason a lot of swifties undervalue mids is because it came right after folkmore which conditioned some in the fandom to think thesaurus entries = untouched quality 1 2 1 1 1

Right the vocabulary in those albums isn't even that complex. Most swifties are giving "I never passed high school English class" teas 3 6

But it's not the only reason. Let's not start with the revisionism. Also folkmore weren't even that thesaurus'd, they just had zero glitter gel garbage and bulletproof production. Only fans who started stanning in 2020 without listening to any of her prior albums would think that. Her pen game was definitely at its peak tho (no matter how many times the Red/SN stans try it ) 15 minutes ago, Nick_317 said: Do not let @Taylor fanboysee this The poor sis has been MIA. Dear Reader Posted March 27 Posted March 27 some of you can just say "i like Poplor better" and it would have the same effect as some of the essays you write

I honestly find the type of writing on these two duos to be very different. SN/Red were a lot more about "instant" feelings. Like a raw reaction, when you are still fully in it. It is very reactive. While in folkmore the writting is much more "distant". It is written in hindsight. It's clear she did not just pour an emotion she felt into a song without taking a long time to truly understand everything it could mean. Spoiler At least it makes sense in my head, but I'm at work and I can't really articulate what I mean Edited March 27 by Klein 3 2
NEX Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Would be cool to see Taylor serve this type of half-spoken verses that suddenly turn into singing and then an explosive chorus 2
