Well maybe I've first heard Fifteen on Fearless TV so it might as well be a song written in the 2020s for me.

There's nothing objectively good about Innocent/Untouchable but I support you on your journey.

Innocent makes me angry. It's not often that I'm like "no girl, stop acting like that you're embarrassing" but that's my immediate thought for this song.

And Untouchable exists because she wanted to be lazy one day and not write a new song. Or maybe she just had blisters from writing all the other masterpieces on Fearless and needed a break.

Spoiler

I guess I can't fault you if your only real exposure is the Aretha version :deadbanana4:

Spoiler

That being said... Innocent is the best and must subtle of drags, because it's condescending and demeaning beneath a veneer of kindness. Sure, on the surface it's an "I understand" song, but the next layer of meaning down is basically "are you not ashamed as a grown ass man of acting how you did? Sure, life is tough for you, wouldn't it be easier for if you were still a child, since that's the only excusable reason for you doing what you did" :deadbanana4: "thirty-two and still growing up now" is evil and emasculating from the lens I choose to interpret the song through :deadbanana4:

And then to perform it at the VMAs in front of him, two months before the official release, I'm sorry but it was ballsy :ryan3:

Spoiler

As for Untouchable, yeah it was an obscure cover of an obscure band that Borshitta liked, but she ******* nailed it. Have you ever listened to the original in comparison? She took a lump of coal and polished it into a ******* diamond :ryan3:

I love Untouchable. It stands out in her catalogue as a not very Swiftian song at all but what she did with it is pure magic. She turned it into a perfect expression of the state of limerence (that borderline obsessive desire to be with someone). If you've been infatuated with someone for no good reason, you can relate to it. :dies:

Going to try to predict what "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" sounds like later today and I shall post the video like last time, she really went for hard titles this era though, idk what the hell I'm going to do with this one :rip:

By the way I'm also a singer-songwriter and I've got a new single coming out soon that is up for pre-save, if you'd like to I'd really appreciate any of my fellow ATRL Swifties pre-saving it, it really helps with streaming playlists and stuff like that: https://fanlink.tv/matiasrodengreatescape

I promise it's a bop, you can hear a snippet here:

The way I knew Track 2's would be among the most difficult to rank. She's literally only missed once (End Game :toofunny2:); Picture To Burn received like an 8.5 from me in the rate. :dies: I legitimately love the rest of these and honestly don't know where to predict TTPD, so I just put it in the middle (and also because the top five are all solidified 10/10, or 11/10 in Maroon and Cardigan's case :eli:, and I can't put TTPD any higher without hearing it of course).

You either have people doing ranks or people complaining about doing ranks or complaining about the lack of content. My question is: if there's no content and you hate rankings, what do you come here for?

it's not the swiftie police, it's just as awful seeing rankings as it is seeing people complaining all the time… but you do you honey

Also, you could be bringing some interesting theme to discuss and yet
