Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'

According to a user on Pulse, pre-orders are at 900k apparently:

I heard this has already sold 900k in US pre orders alone.

If this is true, it'd mean it's slightly performing better than '1989 (TV)', which a Twitter track had put at around 830k US pre-orders about a month before its release, back when we could still somewhat track her pre-orders. :lakitu:

Yeah 2M will be tough if that 900k numbers is true.

'1989 (TV)' sold 1.36M in pure sales, which was a 530k jump from its estimated pre-orders a month in advance. Let's say 'TTPD' does better and sells 600k in pre-orders from now + during release week, pure sales would be at ~1.5M. So she'd need to do 500k+ in SEA units and only Drake has ever cracked the 500k mark from streaming alone thanks to his insane AM power…

Releasing so soon after the gargantuan 1989 TV would certainly hurt potential TTPD sales. Midnights came out after a year draught from Red TV and Red TV didn't have any variants either. Maybe they were a bit greedy with 1989 TV variants - there was really no need for variants on a re-release. I'm sure TTPD would do astronomically well, but I doubt the aforementioned factors wouldn't have an effect on its final number.

a new wave of meltdowns over estimated numbers :suburban:

trust me, she's getting that 2M debut, even if she has to pull a trick or two.

Yes. Also its more likely that ttpd does not have that much of a replay value like midnights but who knows :gaycat6:

If she would Hit 2M then OTH lost again. 900K in pre-orders is amazing. Almost 1M from her Store alone. People will buy it on other retrailers too and Stream it at least once

And how would they know if there's no way of tracking the pre-sales? :suburban:

Do they at least have a clear track record of having insiders info? :suburban:

I think the earliest date that She will emerge from Travis' cave will be the 5th… She wants to let Bey have the spotlight for a bit… they probably discussed it with each other at their tour film premieres…..
