She found out she doesn't need to do much to move huge figures so obviously there's no engagement this far out. I'm sure they're sitting on huge pre order numbers I still feel that number is much less that midnights, You're right that there are 5 weeks to go... but we no lead (and there is no lead), what else can she do? All bonuses are out, variants, tracklist... that's what "worries". 2
Clauss Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Agree on no hype comments. We are getting flooded with music from other artists A lead single would be beneficial 2 1
Timeless Posted March 16 Posted March 16 There's still over a month left for the album to come out...... lord time goes so slow whenever Taylor announces an album
swiftawaywithme Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Omg yall are so dopamine starved. Touch grass. Let other artists have their moment before Tay takes over. At least save your anxiety for April. 12 1 1

Ariana's album is a huge success with a big number 1 single WW right now and gets rave reviews and the fans love it (rightfully so, her best to me), 2 week for Beyonce and we know that is gonna be huge... and her is only after these 2 smashes, that can steal her thunder a bit - and yes, I know they are not on the same level as hers, but it can still have effect on the hype. 1 2

About Ariana you're right cuz she really put out the only BAD BAD BAD song on the album so that is weird... (ME! someone?) About people preferring the other colors of covers? I don't know, I preferred TTPD but anyway if that is the case so we're gonna get less sales overall, just like I said before.

By the Water Posted March 16 Posted March 16 It's crazy how y'all learned nothing from Midnights 'cause there's no way I'm seeing "no hype" discourse 3 1

Even good lead singles can divert the hype away from the album. EOM and vampire. Basically, my guess is that pure sales first week will be between midnights and 1989 tv as her fanbase as grown but a smaller percentage will buy variants. However, I think it will be her biggest streaming debut. Taylor's first week sales are ridiculous but it's longevity where she truly shines. So I don't really care if first week sales are a bit smaller.
Feanor Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Yeah, having no lead single worked for 'Midnights' cause that was the first time she had announced a new album so far in advance without dropping any music. But now it just feels tired, especially because literally everyone else is still releasing pre-release singles, which keep their respective hype going as fans wait for the album to drop. Doing the exact same rollout as 'Midnights' will just lead to diminishing results, as we can already see with her declining engagement. People are not here for multiple variants without having any idea how the music sounds. 1 3

Texas Hold'em which did an amazing job for the hype and pre orders), So I don't know, really.
Feanor Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I predict the first day streams will be her highest, but the album will collapse faster than 'Midnights', so on a first week basis she won't break any of its streaming records and the OTHs will have a field day. This album is very much giving 'evermore'… 3
Mandalore Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Y'all are just bored and no amount of rationalizing it and sugar-coating it with release strategy analysis is gonna change that or the planned release schedule. 5
By the Water Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Are we still doing that thing where we underestimate everything so we can pretend to be surprised when she smashes? That's so 2022 Like omg she has no hype so I don't see her outselling 1989 TV or outstreaming Midnights. Taylormania is lowkey over and she's overexposed. Radio will switch on her and spotify will boycott her. Anything above 174k will be a success 9
Dear Reader Posted March 16 Posted March 16 a lead single is not necessary and is not coming and the sooner you accept this, the happier you’ll be 3

Hunter_13 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Please if her pre-orders were as bad as y'all said she'd already he dropping the collectors cd and vinyl again like she did with midnights. And like it's already sold over 100k+ vinyl for the target one alone. And most Swifties prefer going to the store to purchase. 3
Goaty Posted March 16 Posted March 16 She's going to shatter all streaming records. Even if the album is a dud, that'll only influence its longevity, not its first-week performance. But this is all background noise to the fact that we're finally getting another dedicated breakup album. And we're getting it now when she's an even better songwriter, at a time in her career where she's brave enough to do whatever she wants, and the album itself is about her most significant relationship ever. We're going to be fed! 8
