Lover owes it's success to folklore folklore is the hard working and classy mother of the Swift children, Lover is the spoiled little girl, and that's okay! 3 1
Sprawl Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Apparently some fans met Scott and they asked him about the album 1
Kern Posted March 16 Posted March 16 lol imagine playing Fortnight for the first time and you hear ‘never made it clear, never made it right…’

Once we get closer to release week, her team can pick up the promo again to rebuild hype. Right now nothing is going on so of course there is little hype. For the second, I think black and white covers are less appealing aesthetically to swifties. I think only the Black Dog variant was successful in that regard. 1

I heard it was going to be Icelandic death metal with several of the songs featuring verses actually sung in Icelandic by Taylor (who is now nearly fluent) 3

Holiest Dreams Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I remember being one of like two people on here 100% sure Midnights was breezing past 1M from the first day it was announced, and I unfortunately didn’t bump any posts. This time around, though… can’t wait to come back to some posts about it having “less hype” on TTPD release week 2

Genre isn't going to be a problem for TTPD's success in the slightest 2

State of Grace. Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) I don't really believe the idea that people (I mean the GP, not fans) are perched and counting down the days for albums weeks ahead of their release. That doesn't happen, even for Taylor. People will be checking it out when it comes out and they will be talking about it. It only appears that Midnights maybe had more "hype" and people talking on socials because she was doing MMWM and constantly posting stuff. This time it's literally crickets outside of the variants announcements. Wait until we get to mid-April. Edited March 16 by State of Grace.

Genre isn't going to be a problem for TTPD's success in the slightest The album being more in line with folklore but more upbeat/a bit more alt-rock leaning than folk would ensure a megasmash. It’ll dominate even if it’s synthpop again, but the GP would definitely welcome somewhat of a change. Also looking at the music landscape and songs that are smashing (My Love Mine All Mine, Lose Control, End of Beginning, Beautiful Things, even Texas Hold ‘Em)… But Swifties aren’t capable of thinking rationally and have to fear monger ahead of every release, so 1

FolkLover1989 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I agree with no hype comments. Yeah hype is less this time and also engagement is down by a lot. But anyways numbers are secondary. If album is good , I am happy with Evermore numbers. 2 1

The album is a month+ out yall need to relax... She found out she doesn't need to do much to move huge figures so obviously there's no engagement this far out. I'm sure they're sitting on huge pre order numbers
