If she adding a TTPD set it will be more than 3 songs. 3 songs is basically treating a new studio album as a step child and sabotaging its long term future.

She can add a few more minutes and cut down on champagne problems applause.

Oh that applause takes almost two songs with her speech :ryan:
Also yeah not adding much songs on the new set is making me sad too but depends on the vibe of the album i guess

And they’re gonna be the best 30 seconds of my life …so?

This is likely what she said to herself when she was with The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived™ as well

None of the 1989 vault tracks is Midnights reject. They just have the same producer and some people here can’t handle it

They aren’t rejects, an insider even confirmed it, just people with no taste trying to say “they sound like midnights” to everything

Anyone with ears can tell that 3 of the tracks have the exact same production as midnights. And no way was she writing 2 min songs in 2014 and something as wordy as Suburban Legends

sometimes she takes a lot of creative license with the vault tracks and it’s okay to admit it

don’t you was a piano song before it turned into yail 2.0

theres no way atw10 mentioned patriarchy in 2011… :rip:

and surely suburban legends has suffered some drastic changes

Thank you! Idk why people can’t just admit that like it’s so obvious the 1989 vault tracks were drastically influenced by midnights. Yea she might’ve had a some lines for suburban legends in 2013/14 but no way was she writing “You had people who called you on unmarked numbers. In my peripheral vision I let it slide like a hose on a slippery plastic summer”

That is just not how any of her lyrics sounded around that time

It's almost as if both were done by the same people, in spirit of making a pop album.

Some clearly have never heard Jack's own music :rip: 1989's vault tracks are extremely close to Bleachers (and that includes their 2014 album).

And the spirit of your comment was… to what point out the obvious but say nothing at the same time:bibliahh:

i remember seeing someone say the re recordings were influenced by the albums before it (folkmore - fearless / red, and midnights - speak now / 1989) and ngl I kinda see it

I’m not a Midnights defender by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy how the narrative went from “this album sounds like everything else she and Jack have ever made together, no sonic growth whatsoever” to “Midnights had such a unique and clearly defined sound that you can identify without question which songs sound like Midnights rejects and which don’t”

I enjoy Midnights and don’t think it has the same sound as 1989. Yes they’re both synthpop but clearly have a different take on it. Midnights is more like a Jack Antonoff album featuring Taylor Swift. His signature sound is all over the album. Regardless of him producing on both album it’s clear there’s a sonic difference between the two but the lines blur completely on the vault tracks where he obviously produced in the vein of midnights

Idk, I mean I do agree that she’s obviously presenting the vault tracks to us as she wants them to be heard in present day, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they weren’t written/mostly written during their original eras.

Blank Space, Wildest Dreams, I Know Places, Clean, and New Romantics are all either very wordy or fairly wordy songs. Plus, “you kiss me in a way that’s gonna screw me up forever” sounds exactly like something 2014 Taylor would write.
