Mandalore Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) It's interesting, almost none of the track names on the standard edition really give "Poetry" in such an obvious way as all the bonus tracks. I'm really not gonna be able to gauge what to expect until I hit play on April 19th it seems. Edited March 5 by Mandalore

Gotta scam those sales first. 7
Magickarp Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Actually what if she pulls a Florence, & does a Poetry ✌️ version of TTPD 2

So like many, I’m also really looking forward to the remake just for those bonus tracks. I don’t expect any improvements on the standard tracklist however, if anything I’m prepared for a couple of downgrades. But obviously, TTPD is a muchhh more exciting project and we should quit the theories about rep for the time being. 2

Magickarp Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I'm still shocked 1989TV didn't get a MV. Of all her Era's, 1989 was the most defined by its MVs. BS, BB, WD, OOTW. Whew. I guess it makes sense now that in her very little free time from Era's Tour, it was better for her to use that to film TTPD MVs.

She has given up on making good music videos since that doesnt make her any money But for real i hope she starts working with different directors in the future and puts effort into her videos again (and yes i know videos dont really matter for chart success but not everything has to be about numbers ) 2 1

The only video I really liked since LWYMMD are cardigan and willow. I applaud her for wanting to direct her MVs, but if she could just hire a co-director it would be for the best. But in the end I don't care much for MVs so it's whatever. I'll watch it once and be done with it anyway. 1

folkloreking Posted March 5 Posted March 5 If we’re getting a couple of big pop moments (the IKYWT/WANEGOD of this supposed Red 2.0), I hope at least one of them is as scorching as Anti-Hero. “And life will lose all its meaning… For the last time” elicited a loud gasp when I first heard it. Similar to “Could’ve followed my fears all the way down” in TIMT. Her s*icidal pen is so powerful. 8
Arrows Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Bejeweled is her best self-directed video imo. It fits the song, and the storyline is pretty original - “What if Prince Charming got bored with Cinderella and sent her home?” Other than the disastrous speaking-segment, the Anti-Hero video is also a really good pop video, especially the first half. 3

And it's the only one to not be directed by her since The Man I love it so much. The storytelling, meaningful easter-egging (ie, that serves a narrative of the song not teases some release ), a lot of underrated symbolism that doesn't feel too on the nose. The ACTING, Miles Teller her best male MV lead, they have great chemistry on camera. Miss Serena Van Der Woodsen nailed it. 3 minutes ago, Klein said: Oof scrap my previous post I had completely forgotten about ATW10 and IBYTAM We had it so good in Red (TV), the great vault, this MV, the great short film. 4
Redstreak Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Tbh I’m fine with the self directed videos. None of them are *bad* and MVs don’t really have the promo power like they used to. Plus if she wants to get better she has to keep doing them I just hope she has people to run things by or work with in the film industry instead of just her team 1
Magickarp Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Omg, Idk what happened but i always thought The Man was produced by Hack I had to go on Internet Archive to make sure the Wiki wasn't edited Wtf i was there during Over, & would've seen the producer list, how tf did i end up convincing myself Hack produced it And HOW did she pick 3 Joel Little songs to be singles ME, YNTCD, & TM. 2
