Most of the time it's just red herring

Won't be surprised if no explanation here

I want her to say that out loud for most of the TikTok swifties!

but they won’t believe her anyway

Tortured Poets is perfectly set up to be Taylor’s biggest album, best album, most acclaimed album. The title is specific enough to be forever iconic, if the quality is there:celestial5:

Also, how come nobody talks about the title seemingly being in all-caps? I noticed it’s spelled that way almost everywhere, but I hope I’m wrong…

She should’ve called the album „Poets”. It sounds timeless :ryan3:

She didn't even release "old tracks" from the last re recordings (let alone some new Vault Song). She really wants the First day streaming records :bird:

See how when wildest dreams kinda became viral on Tik Tok (mixed with a Frozen Song, not even the "real" song)  She released the new version but then with songs like don't blame, style or enchanted (their numbers on streaming services were way bigger) she didn't release the new version until the full albums.

Actually don't blame Is like charting from 2 years now and people can only listen the old version

The real thing is the announcement at the grammy wasn't that needed. Honestly i don't think that particularly pushed the first hours sales so an announcement during the tour would have been the same.

An announcement in Australia was a perfect timing for me. Exactly two months before the album, instead of 2 weeks more with the grammy thing.

The only recent release where it made sense to release a track BEFORE the album was Fearless TV with Love Story TV, she had to show people what she was about to do

The more I think about it, I believe the lead single is coming in March, ahead of Act II and Vultures Part 3. If Taylor really is looking at the charts, she may feel need to do something. I don't think she wants to see her rivals, like Beyonce and Kanye, at the top for much longer.

This girl comes from 10 songs in the top10 front her last album (this means even casually track songs were bigger than other top 10 songs) and you're really worried about the debut of the First official Song! because of songs at that point are gonna be in their 13-14th weeks?

I'm not worried where Taylor will debut. I just don't know how chart obsessed Taylor is. If she really is, then she's going to release the lead sooner rather than later because she will want to flex her dominance, instead of playing second fiddle to Beyonce/Kanye.

If she keeps her album release date and doesn't drop anything before then, it will prove that Taylor isn't this chart obsessed artist that some on here portray her as.

If you ask me what will happen, I think more likely than not she releases the lead before the album.

I really don't get the sense of your post. Just because Beyoncé and Kanye released their songs in february doesn't mean "She will come as second" if She releases on April. What's your point? Other people can't have their #1s. If there is to fight with Kanye or anyone when her song is planned to come She will for sure but she doesn't need to anticipate or to change plans cause someone right now has a hit song. :chick1:

Releasing a lead single out of fear is an odd idea

Indeed, Taylor and Taylor Nation both use THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Perhaps TTPD is the opposite of folklore

folklore vs. THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT

escapism and romanticism vs. realism

What would be the genre?

Tortured Poets has a great ring to it tbh. I hate the "department" part of the title, but I guess it gives it that artistic twang she was going for

it's wild to call this "another peak." how can you compare 2014 Taylor to 2023 Taylor? :rip: they're in different realms.

Taylor is 10x bigger today than she was in 2014.

the 1989 tour did 300 million (adjusted to inflation). Eras tour is doing close to 3 billion.

in 2014 the Swifties stanned. in 2024 half of Earth is stanning.

I think it's safe to assume nothing will be confirmed before April 19th. At most, we're getting the producers and track lengths.
