MidnightsAtPeace Posted February 27 Posted February 27 (edited) Now which songs on the album do you think are going to get a music video treatment??? I'm thinking maybe 3-4 songs. I have to guess based on titles and their placement on the tracklist. - The Tortured Poets Department - Fortnight - Clara Bow (she has to make an art deco/flapper inspired music video for this so bad) - Down Bad Spoiler Also here's a list of Taylor's music videos and their placement on the tracklists of their respective albums. She had made videos for 7 of her track 2s Track 1: Tim McGraw Fearless Mine ...Ready For It? willow Lavender Haze Track 2: Picture To Burn Fifteen Sparks Fly Red Blank Space End Game cardigan Track 3: Teardrops On My Guitar Love Story Back to December Style Lover Anti-Hero Track 4: I Knew You Were Trouble Out of the Woods The Man Track 5: White Horse Delicate Track 6: You Belong With Me Mean 22 Shake It Off Look What You Made Me Do Track 7: The Story of Us Track 8: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Bad Blood Track 9: Wildest Dreams Bejeweled Track 10: The Last Time Track 11: Our Song Karma Track 12: The Best Day (technically lmao) Track 13: Change Track 14: Everything Has Changed You Need To Calm Down Track 15: Ours Track 16: Begin Again New Romantics ME! TaylorNation needs to get back on their ruthless shenanigans for the TTPD era (a la “Hello, do you have an ATRL account handle?”) Please don't remind me 2

Magickarp Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I wonder if TTPD was always going to be the title, or was there a "single word" option. Like Speak Now vs Enchanted. SN won cuz of Scott. TTPD won cuz it was more direct abt Toe? 1
Burqa Posted February 27 Posted February 27 what if on march 22nd what we're getting is STF TV, Need and others like maybe Haunted acoustic TV to celebrate 1 year of Eras Tour
LostInStereo100 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Dumb question. but Anti Hero dropped the same day as midnights right? What about Bejeweled music video? I wonder why her team felt so confident with it being a lead single or if they chose it because it was the most successful? These no lead singles before an album get confusing I wasn’t following her as closely back then. I just don’t want another mess with SLVT and IION
Saintlor Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Do we think she actually won't restock Tortured Poets vinyls so that for her followup album people will rush even more to buy variants?
littlebodybigheart Posted February 27 Posted February 27 (edited) i really need her to break all sales and streaming records with this album tbh. not because i even care, but this site is going to be annoying from fans and haters alike if she doesn’t meet all these unrealistic expectations people have for her like. people will say this underperformed if it does less than 2 million first week and that’s kinda wild Edited February 27 by littlebodybigheart

I might be wrong, but I think folklore was the only time vinyls weren’t restocked. She even went as far as putting the Midnights vinyls in retail stores. I would be shocked if she didn’t put them on sale again 2

Let’s leave the bar exactly where it’s at. 1

Some variants here and there restocked from time to time in 2021. 48 minutes ago, LostInStereo100 said: Dumb question. but Anti Hero dropped the same day as midnights right? Anti-Hero and Lavender Haze were always planned to be the first 2 singles (in the order we got them), Karma was pretty likely too considering it's the tour's closer and the only one that isn't on tracklist order on the Midnights section. 1

I have it on relatively good authority a friend of a friend works at a big pop radio station lol that Taylor's team sent Anti-Hero, Lavender Haze, Karma, Bejeweled, and Mastermind as potential single options to a few radio programming directors in top markets, which tracks given some of the odd set list choices (for instance, why would Mastermind be there over something like YOKO unless Taylor was still considering making it a single while she was planning the tour). I have a feeling that Taylor's original picks were AH, LH, and Bejeweled (since they got the videos), but then I'd also assume that Bejeweled was the least favorite among the radio people (or at Republic), so they decided to release the video as promotion for the release, knowing the era wouldn't go 5 singles deep. I believe the Mastermind theory that she wanted it for a single. The music was used for the teaser.

Bejeweled music video was released in midnight's first week since bejeweled was projected to chart at 11 below unholy preventing Taylor for getting the whole top 10 . The release of the music video plus putting digital single version of question? and midnight ensured the clean top 10 sweep. From the music video , I think its clear that Lavender Haze was filmed when they were still considering releasing it as prerelease lead single since it teases the midnight album heavily. From antiheroes actor, she hadn't yet decided which single to be the lead single when she was filming antihero. I think sometime after she filmed the 3 music videos she realized that anti hero was the best choice. Midnights setlist was definetly decided pre-release considering the months of planning that went into the tour.
Klein Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I just need to hear The Tortured Poets Department. If there's any pre-album single, I hope it's this one. I need to know the thesis of this album.

Magickarp Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Remember when she dropped the MID Teaser and people thought there were 4-5 MVs in there Once Bejeweled dropped & used 75% of all the scenes here it was over Also screaming at the very first line of the MMWM being an easter egg "It's me, hi" only for the 2nd line to be, she won't do any easter eggs this time. SATANIC. The ******* UPSIDE DOWN PHONE still annoys me to this day tho. 1
