Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'

hmm if taste can stay top 3 next week, she could prove herself a taydaughter once again.

streaming-era female albums with 3 songs that each got a top 3 week outside of album bomb week: 1989, Lover. would be neat if the albums were all five years apart.

(times when the third hit was only top 3 during album bomb:

Deja vu, break up with your gf, lavender/maroon (leaving Antihero/karma)

don't talk/****, down/broken)

The world is not made of only pure pop and rock. There are too many genres in between

That's not what people here think or what was said about midnights here for a long time when it was criticized for being "a regression" when it was completely different sounding than folklore/lover/rep

reading posts, people are mostly saying "bombastic pop" and I know that doesn't just mean pop, but the big opinion here is happy songs with max which is what I'm saying isn't as great as people are building in thier heads, especially when she gets criticized by her fans about having to change her sound/producer each album, midnights was amazing to me so her going back to pure sugar pop is just a preference I have that I dont want, to me that would be regression

hi swifties, can you guys kindly recommend the most autumn-y songs on TPPD? I can't be bothered to listen to all 31 new songs, but when pumpkin spice season starts rolling around, I always crave new music from the Queen of Fall. thanks in advance

Love how TTPD is 4.5 months old and we are already discussing hopes for TS12  she has completely spoiled us hasn't she :fan:

I would love a more upbeat, slightly left-of-center pop album with people like Rostam and Ariel Rechtshaid, no Jack or Aaron :ryan3:

As a certified Swift Season enthusiast, I would say something like this:

- Fortnight
- The Tortured Poets Department

- Guilty as Sin?

- The Black Dog

- imgonnagetyouback

- The Albatross

- I Hate It Here

- I Look In People's Windows

- The Prophecy

- The Bolter

- The Manuscript

That's what I'd toss on an autumn and late summer playlist from this album.

There's a reason it got my 11 for TTPD in the rate :suburban:

Spoiler

I almost gave it to The Prophecy or IHIH but I cheated and confirmed with the good sis @Forever Winter that Faith of the Scripture was... underperforming the hardest :suburban:

Are those the actual lyrics? Not really sure what he's getting at or why he uses Taylor's name. Am I just dumb? :deadbanana4:

"I'm too swift, don't tell Taylor about this **** (Swift, yeah)

I'm too swift, now don't tell Taylor 'bout this **** (Yeah)"

Probably the worst lyrica that i've read since Famous by K@nie

Right? I actually love Taylor's sugary pop songs but i don't see how that would not be a regression of her current sound. And if she want to go back to sugary pop, PLEASE i hope she'd use another producer than Max Martin :rip:

This. I need her to work with Ian Kirkpatrick asap. His work on Sabrina's album is incredible & honestly what i want TS12 to sound like, and he recently worked with Jack on a bonus track on that album so fingers crossed Taylor gets his number :allears:

Exactly. As i said many times, there's so many fantastic pop producers out there, the world doesn't revovle around Max Martin. Ian Kirkpatrick is indeed great, i love his work with Dua.

Oh this TEA :clap3:

Some other people/groups I'd really love to produce with her, whether on TS12 or further in the future; Beach House, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Jeff Bhasker (he was such a HIT maker of the 2010s, they would make magic once again), and some other alt pop-rock producers. Whoever works with Wolf Alice for example (haven't checked to see who it is dd). I also want her to work with Imogen again.

I will say that I've been on the #NeverMaxAgain team for a few years now but nowadays I wouldn't mind a reunion between them (plus Ilya & Payami please?) just for a few songs. Like 2 or 3, and only if they are at the top of their game. Ryan Tedder and Greg Kurstin as well, in the way of pop producers. And most of all: I want her to let Patrik Berger fully produce a couple bangers with her.

Obviously I do love Jack/Aaron but after the length of TTPD I hope they take a backseat next time. Perhaps Jack on like 3 songs and Aaron on 1.

I kinda like the idea of a proper big imperial pop moment but tbh I'd love another alt-lor era. she wasn't doing these monster sales but her image, reception and overall perception as artist was a lot better, and as much as I like this album it isn't touching folklore and evermore at all.
