Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'

The way it's the same recycled meltdowns every week too. You'd think they'd get tired of talking about someone they apparently don't care about :ryan3:

That's really the worst thing about OTHs: they're so f*cking REPETITIVE. Every few days it's the exact same meltdown all over again, you'd think they would get tired after all this time

And what's actually funny is the fact they think they represent the majority. They ACTUALLY believe that. They think loud internet bubbles = the GP. Which is why they were so convinced, months ago, that she was on her way out after her AOTY win at the Grammys because of the "backlash" that followed. But of course it doesn't matter in the real world :coffee2:

OTHs have truly become pop MAGA: they live in their own weird hateful bubble, are convinced everyone else secretely think like them and constantly make ENDLESS conspiracy theories to convince themselves she's not actually successful outside of a small group of people, which of course doesn't hold up to any scrutiny whatsoever. The whole thing has a very "stolen election" feel to it and it's getting truly creepy.

Even beyond the numbers I do love seeing the meltdowns from the THOTS every time she has her DSP staffer's assistant upload another random live mp3 file. The rush I get seeing people scream and kick their feet at her doing basically nothing because they know it just won't work for anyone else is delicious :ryan3:

Also, yes to an Anthology run, I'm sure she can find a way to cook up special variants just for it's sake :ryan3:

  Reveal hidden contents

The way I literally picked a university degree based on a spreadsheet that weighed my interests against programs with the fewest math requirements the ironies are obvious here nnnn because I never wanted to look at another number again in my life :ryan3:

  Reveal hidden contents

And that's how I ended up studying international relations because the most math I had to worry about were the pretty trees in game theory :ryan3:

  Reveal hidden contents

and the six-month quantitative thesis but I've blocked that out and I haven't looked at a non-Taylor number since :ryan3:

THIS right there is one of the real reasons for their extreme anger: they know Taylor is the only one who can do it. The other pop girls can't sell for sh*t and it's driving them INSANE :toofunny3:

They can't deal with the fact that Taylor's success from 2022-2024 ALONE has put her so far ahead of everyone else that she will never be toppled. Both in terms of sales and streaming she'll be #1 pretty much forever, her lead is gonna be impossible to surpass for any other pop girlie, ESPECIALLY the ones that started at the same time as she did, like Gaga. It's game over for everyone else.

Speaking of Gaga, her new song has a sound and production that is what I would like Taylor to experiment with (not a whole album but 3/4 tracks)

This excuse particularly will always SEND me because it makes zero sense. Variants are variants, where's the drag that Taylor actually puts in the effort to give fans something worthwhile to buy? Every unboxing video I watched noted how high quality the TTPD vinyl were - the thick pages in the gatefold, the design, etc. as well as the deluxe CDs having great material. Meanwhile other artists (which isn't limited to just one specific btw) just do colored discs and call it a day. Putting less effort into your product for your fans and charging the same price is a good thing…?

Then again, OTHs never make any sense and change up their argument daily so it tracks :clack:

I mean, we need to remember that when the whole Taylor vs Billie thing happened a few months ago, OTHs tried really hard to gaslight people into thinking Taylor was the problematic one when it was BILLIE and her brother who were shading Taylor the whole time. OTHS have always been deeply hypocritical and that'll never change. Hating Taylor is the whole point, reality be damned :clown:

I can't believe no one pointed this out yet but not only are the THOTS mad, they are also UGLY AF yall! bless their souls :'(

I am sorry to say, but that had always been a given considering amount of hate and distress they emit day in-day out for someone they supposedly don't care about.  :chick3:

I honestly dont think she's doin this to block chappel. She's just not here for kanye havin a nr1. She will extend this as long as kanye is in the top of the charts
This pandemonium will be worse if she's able to block sabrina :gaycat2: i want her to block for the mess and the drama

The bonfire is burning intensely for the REP era. The sacrifices are done.
We need her to embrace the snake again :ryan3:

I draw the line at her aiming to blocking Sabrina tho, I don't think she will.

I dont think too. Something is telling me she sees sabrina as her successor :giraffe: she clearly likes her a lot and wants her to thrive

Listened to the album again after forcing myself to stop listening to it to avoid fatigue and it still sounds so fresh. Truly has narcotics in all of her songs :jonnycat::clap3:

Max Martin just gave Lisa and Rosalia the pop song of the year. I hope Taylor will have at least one more pop album that she works with him, given their interaction at her tour in Sweden.

Exactly. I'm sure she'll be happy to see Sabrina at #1.

I hope she's aware we all want a happier and dancier record. I already messaged Jack antonoff like 2 months ago about it
How we want the orange color and this type of record :gaycat2: Max Martin again would be a dream
I wonder if she will release this in the summer or end of 2025 or maybe she will wait for 2026....Then she can take a big rest and have kids and stuff

12 will be a goodbye and
I think 13th will be her comeback album after a long time.

So this might be TTPD last week at #1 since Posty just released his new album and he might have his comeback moment after the commercial letdown that was his last album. It was a good run.
:ryan3:

Spoiler

She better have more versions on the vault just in case.

I can't believe Taylor can make me listen to a two hour Album. I love Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me, loml, But Daddy I Love Him, imgonnagetyouback, I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can), Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus, Clara Bow, I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, Guilty As Sin, I Look In Peoples Windows, The Bolter & The Prophecy.

the week of the 13th would probably be a no go since Chapell is performing at the vmas and I think she has some vinyls to coincide with that week if i'm not mistaken. I think she'll be gunning hard for #1 that week tbh. The other weeks do look promising tho! realistically she could probably even block Posty if she really wanted to but I know he is a friend and what not :eli:

I think her new vinyl is shipping around September 20 actually so maybe Chappell can get 2 weeks, the VMAs week and the following week ddd. I have a copy pre-ordered so they can't say Swifties aren't benevolent :gaycat:

The way it's been four months and some of these songs are still just HITTING for the first time.

I thought LOML was a snooze until earlier this week but now it's hit and I can't take it off repeat.  That bridge... that outro... those piano chords...  STUNNING.

What a valiant roar indeed! :jamming:

I don't think she'll block Post because 1) he helped her kick off this era and is a friend, but also 2) Yeehaw Posty is popular with the masses; he's definitely on a hot streak.

I also don't think she'll be #1 the week of the VMAs because Chappell has the vinyls coming + it's really just the perfect recipe with her hype for her to finally get the top spot.

The rest of the upcoming weeks could easily be hers though, and I don't even think she'd have to move all that much to secure them, with the exception of maybe the week Sabrina releases.

I wonder when they will decide to release The Anthology physically. I'm sure it's ready (or being made as we speak)...

they're gonna look really stupid when numbers come out and turns out she would've been #1 without the digital variants lol

one interesting thing is that the digital album variant thing is at least partially facilitated by bb rule changes.

some people have melted down saying "well if taylor wants those acoustic/live versions available, why doesn't she sell them as digital singles? greedy!!!"

webstore digital singles are banned from billboard charts, so that's not an option.

in theory she could do, like, itunes, but I don't think they would allow her to have one-day availability. and if they did, itunes is dead enough that even with BTS fans conjuring up over 10 mil Spotify streams weekly for who + a bunch of versions that for awhile took up the itunes top 20, who still couldn't even make top 10 on the hot 100.

so thanks, billboard.
