Swiftologist has been redeeming himself recently. I'm still not the biggest fan of him but he really cut through a LOT of the anti-TTPD propaganda those last few months.

I still hold a grudge from some of his earlier comments but yeah this and a few of his other recent videos have been sharp and correct

I always appreciated his videos. I think the way he expresses his opinion is very smart. He comes off as arrogant at times, but I love the way he presents his information.

I also like the way he presents information but yeah, his arrogance has often been a turn off for me. He seems unable to admit when he's wrong about something. But maybe he'll get better, we'll see.

Oh trust me, me too. His podcast with this girl friend of his is truly painful to get through, sometimes they sound like straight up OTHs.

One of the weirdest "analysis" he's done in the past is when he made a whole video about the Taylor/Katy situation and he basically said that Taylor felt threatened by Katy's massive success with Teenage Dream and implied she started the whole Katy feud out of basically nowhere. I felt like i was hallucinating :rip:

my tears ricochet is getting a nice boost on Spotify due to the Blake Lively movie and let me tell you that the scene where they use the song is absolutely perfect. It will probably get 1M daily eventually.

I probably missed this video tbh, but I gotta say, I've never been convinced whatsoever by the "she tried to steal my dancers". Like you tell me the dancers don't sign actual contracts that would prevent from leaving in the middle of the tour?  :suburban:

I never really dove to find more explanations because I don't really care enough for the subject, but if someone wants to explain very simply and concisely how that makes sense y'all are welcome. Because as it stands, the explanation that Taylor felt threatened by Katy ruling the pop world with TD/Prism before she released 1989 so she orchestrated a feud to lower Katy's status feels less far-fetched (which is saying something cause this gives conspiracy theory... :deadbanana4:).

Well I know he's a The Last Time stan so if he's there he better participate in the discography rate. I can't be alone defending this masterpiece. :khalyan2:

idk, I always thought people thought Taylor felt petty over John mayer but knew it would look bad to admit that.

anyway, what happens if people melt down over chappell being number two behind taylor's album next week?  :sherlock:

Oh, that's actually the most believable thing about this feud I've read so far.

Just another week I guess. There's been a TTPD-related meltdown every week since February.  :gaycat6:

I feel like they probably already had a frenemy type of vibe because their personalities honestly don't seem like they'd mesh well. Katy tends to put her foot in her mouth a lot and a lot of what she says can be misconstrued. Then she dated John Mayer on-and-off for years in a post-Speak Now world and he literally did what he did with Taylor, doing a song with her for his record and everything.

There was probably an inkling of truth to the dancers thing because Katy talked about telling her dancers to put something in their contracts so they could come back to her when she's back on an album cycle, but it definitely wasn't a deliberate attempt at sabotage on her end ddd. Taylor likely already had a distaste for her and made a mountain out of a molehill so she could lash her a bit over John Mayer. She was also in her newly feminista era so she probably was feeling like Katy "broke girl code" and wasn't standing with her over John Mayer being a POS (especially when we can see in hindsight just how much that relationship traumatized her, i.e. WCS). Lashing a woman over a man wouldn't have looked good in her girl power era so she had to come up with something quick.

Guilty As Sin? and The Prophecy have won the album survivors. Full results are here if anybody is interested in checking it out!

As for the Katy Perry thing, I think it was a whole bunch of things. The dancers and John Mayer, yeah, but there was also an interview (I think the same RS where she talked about the dancers?) where she said the person had spent years making shady comments and giving backhanded compliments and stuff.

Katy was so dumb though. I still remember when that first interview dropped, everybody thought it was about Miley or Demi or something. Katy's name was nowhere to be found. She could have dodged the bullet but instead she owned up to it. I mean, we probably would have had some sleuths figure out who the Red Tour dancers left her for eventually, but regardless… Katy kinda walked right into the fire.

Is Rep coming this year... I would have rather she wait next year though... end with the TTPD era properly i guess. Its Taylor though she does what she wants though and I'll be on the bleachers supporting her but they would eat each other's streams to be honest. Also justice for My boy and Down bad.

Yeah, this whole "she felt threatened by Katy" feels very conspiracy theory, i don't buy it for one second. If that was true she should've felt even MORE threatened by Gaga and Rihanna and it obviously wasn't the case.

But i always felt the heart of the problem with Taylor and Katy was John Mayer more than anything. Katy dated John AFTER he did what he did to Taylor so it probably left a bad taste in her mouth. The dancers thing probably wasn't that big of a deal but it was a tipping point for Taylor.

Snaps to y'all, John Mayer's impact is incredibly underrealized outside of the fanbase :giraffe:

Even most KC seem to be (or at least act) unaware when presented with that theory :giraffe:

the support for TTPD beyond variants has been so weak, it barely feels like an era, so i don't mind if it gets officially cut off for rep tv 😭 a lot of ppl seem sure its not coming til 2025 but imo a london/vmas announcement is all but certain........
