YourFavoriteWeapon Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Robin is definitely one of the best songs she's ever done and I wish more people talked about it. It feels like Ronan's little sister thematically and is very overlooked. 4 1

The way I literally just had the album on shuffle and turned the whole thing off when Robin started it really is a beautiful song but I can only hear it in tracklist order, it should never stray

Every single Taylor album has one of those overlooked songs that i absolutely fall in love with but that most of the fanbase seems to ignore. For example i ADORE Epiphany but most Swifties don't seem to care about it 1

It's not really comforting or optimistic about the topic, it's an "enjoy it while it lasts cause it won't last long and real life sucks" song, which is pretty dark even for an album as dark and depressing as ttpd. 4

All amazing songs but are not being given a chance. 2

My sister got pregnant this year and I instantly think of my (future) nephew when i listen to it

I can understand people having their own favorite albums/songs but sometimes people can just be objectively wrong about stuff

1989 Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I'm not watching that and I'm scared to ask, but how did they rank them?

mael Posted July 18 Posted July 18 NYSHIT the same publication that's been dragging Her since folklore. they only lover her fruity pop records
wastedpotential Posted July 18 Posted July 18 The New York Times people have such weird taste when it comes to Taylor I refuse to listen on principle so idk if he's one of the people but I vividly remember Jon Caramanica (or whoever) being mad about folklore because he liked pop Taylor, and then he gave it a shitty review and score
wastedpotential Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Like please ******* imagine thinking Lover is a better album than folklore Even here with our... variety in tastes, I think we can all agree that that's just false
1989 Posted July 18 Posted July 18 After listening, their takes were…mostly pretty bad. Their assessments of Debut, Fearless, and Speak Now were pretty spot on (minus the complete dismissal of TWILY and the Enchanted hate, which are both wild) and it was nice to see those three get some love, but their takes on every other album were just…wrong. Like, not them admitting that Red is incredibly disjointed but still ranking it so high. And honestly, not having Lover and Rep as the bottom two should've been the first sign that these rankings would be a…choice. 1

I will always remember that feeling listening to it as I was driving to a military hospital I was rotating on those pandemic months. 1
