The bridge of The Prophecy is really top tier

And I sound like an infant
Feeling like the very last drops of an ink pen
A greater woman stays cool
But I howl like a wolf at the moon
And I look unstable
Gathered with a coven round a sorceress' table
A greater woman has faith
But even statues crumble if they're made to wait
I'm so afraid I sealed my fate
No sign of soulmates
I'm just a paperweight
In shades of greige
Spending my last coin so someone will tell me
It'll be ok

I always have an actual physical reaction to "But I howl like a wolf at the moon". I don't know what it is, but it's like something wants to get out and I guess it just gets me. That song is truly settling as one of my (all time?) favorites from her.

I still can't believe I got to witness it live as my surprise song, and mashed-up with an evermore song no less. Between this and loml in Paris N1 + The Alchemy/Treacherous in Paris N4 + Chloe in Lyon N2, I truly got blessed by the TTPD gods.:jonny5:

The way I NEED a variant with literally any live or acoustic version of The Prophecy :jonny2: she went in the studio the day she made that song and channeled every aspect of the divine that ever existed

Fearless & 1989 – 11 weeks at number one in Billboard 200 and won AOTY at the Grammys.

TTPD – 11 weeks at number one in Billboard 200 this week. (Predicted to be 12 straight week next week)

AOTY at the 67th Grammys incoming??? I would be surprised if it happens.

I feel like if her next record is jam packed with "Bops" aka uptempos then TTPD will be even more appreciated by the fan base and GP.

To me, TTPD: Anthology is EASILY her best album however for a lot of people in the fan base the #1 complaint I keep seeing is that it's too full of ballads, midtempos and lacks strong melodies etc...If she "course corrects" with TS12 being a little more edited, not a stream of consciousness type of record like TTPD and is more polished in the vein of 1989 full of mostly bops then I can guarantee yall that TTPD will be viewed with so much more love and adoration. Right now I think a lot of critics and fans are craving more "bops" from Taylor rather than midtempos and ballads because even Midnights was a little slower for a pop return (except for a few uptempos here and there). The BPM of her past 4 original albums has been a little slower on average (Folklore, Evermore, Midnights & TTPD). If TS12 is more fun, sexy and bop filled to match her current relationship with Travis and post Eras tour glee then I think the fans and critics will be satisfied and TTPD will be seen in a much better light retroactively

TTPD only lack the nostalgic factor to become her top album for me.

It has everything we die-hard fans want from her. Lyrics and storytelling.

And some might say the lack of melody but it`s just because they havent get use to the beautiful melody this album provide.

We can never move on from this... That bridge is my daily incantation. Invented the emo genre.

Literally on my 2000s emo playlist lmao

That's exactly how I view it too personally. It's literally the PERFECT album imo. Especially as stans...this is EXACTLY what we want. Diaristic, unedited streams of consciousness and vulnerability. You'd think that in her imperial phase she'd be more closed off from us and I remember a lot of stans saying Midnights was an example of her editing how much she wants to share with us (until 3AM edition came out of course with some of her most honest lyrics) but with TTPD: Anthology she shared soooo much that I dont think ANY popgirl in her imperial phase would ever admit to in song format....it's so RAW and honest...sometimes even painting Taylor as overbaring etc...like idk it's just perfect for us stans. But I do understand why casual fans and GP could be turned off to some extent. For them they are not as invested in the Taylor lore to care a lot about lyrics and vibe and stuff. They really just want the melodies that instantly stick in their heads That's why TS12 should prob be a little more uptempo imo (at least strategically) but as a fan I could take 100 more TTPDs tbh! It's that amazing of a record

She said let me rewrite those Big Machine era personal records and leave Borchetta in the dust. :clap3: Under Republic, she'll have had her personal longest running #1 album with TTPD, longest running #1 single with Anti-Hero, longest charting song with Cruel Summer, highest first week sales 3x over with Midnights>1989TV>TTPD, most successful tour with Eras, matched her AOTY wins, most critically acclaimed album with Red TV, charted more songs total on the Hot 100, more top 10s on the Hot 100, more #1s on the Hot 100, more cumulative weeks at #1 on the BB200, and had more #1 albums on the BB200. :clap3:

Lover is also coming for her longest charting album ever. :jonnycat:

Lover - Taylor Swift

folklore - Fearless

evermore - Speak Now

Midnights - Red

The Tortured Poets Department - 1989

OH something tells me the next Republic album will be that *****.

Okay, I'm loving the Fortnight Cult Remix lmao. It feels more pop. I usually don't like remixes.

yeah, beautiful but boring and somewhat reductive melody :relax:

even sad, beautiful, tragic sounds better melodically than a lot of songs on ttpd.

i personally want her to simplify her lyrics and focus much more on strong melodies and harmonies instead of trying to prove that she is the most prolific lyricist of her generation :rip:

Listening now, I use the BLONDISH remix at the gym all the time. Fortnight has such an intriguing melody honestly. It's underrated, but I get it cause it's lowkey.

There has to be a reason why she isn't pushing a new single. It's literally been three months and all we have is fortnight :rip:

Like this is literally shaping up to be her biggest or one of her biggest albums ever and no single lined up. Broken Heart is still just a rumor I believe

Omg I love the acoustic of fornight so beautiful ahjjj

Just laying this out here: i hope for her next contract, she let the label do the singles promotion.

watching Sabrina & Miley going ham with auto play payola while fortnight was only on TTH #1 for 2 weeks makes it so laughable.

so hopefully this particular effort will fall under UMG instead of her cheapass self.

Yeah i have to say i wish she was more hungry when it comes to her singles's success. They could've pushed Fortnight way harder than they did and it's just weird to not have a second single when the album is so successful. I'm happy the album is naturally so successful but i wish she'd push it harder, it could be her best streaming album eventually if she did that.

I'm not sure any single would have really stuck and taken off when the whole narrative of TTPD is it being a 31-track double album. It actually makes sense that Fortnight is less of an era-defining single ala Anti-Hero.

I get your point, but my point goes for any of her singles ever since signing w/ UMG.

the post-debut support for her singles were minimal, basically non existent, and then you look at the out-of-control autoplay Sabrina has rn? It's just laughable. A small act who hadn't had any real success until now gets that much resources, think about how much TS would've had if her singles were handled by UMG.

But the whole point of autoplay is to get your music out there. These new up and coming artists need the autoplay to reach a larger audience before they drop their album, so the labels pay for it. Taylor doesn't need it at all. In Taylor's case, releasing the album is the best promotion she could ever get, pushing a single with autoplay would have little to no long term impact. Sure it would boost the streams by 500k-1M daily for the time the autoplay is active, but these 30M total extra streams serve no purpose long term since she already reached everyone by just releasing the album.

Taylor doesn't really need to push a song anymore to get a hit/get out there, except for extending a #1 run if she wants to. If one of her songs resonates with the public at large, it'll become a smash (see Anti-Hero or Cruel Summer). Fortnight, Karma or Is It Over Now wouldn't have gotten significantly bigger if they were autoplay'd.
