omrimayo Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I’m just gonna say it but I’m worried about the number one first week in the single charts WW, THE by Beyonce just keeps getting bigger and bigger and multi format smash on radios which will peak around April, I mean I love Beyoncé and THE song but I’m a bit worried for an Old Town Road situation that’s it’s just too damn big… and this time it’s gonna be part of an album and not just one song to push. I mean I’m sure I’m overthinking it but still… 750k a day in the UK is too damn big. P.S Those 2 mash ups today just killed me. Perfection!!! 1
State of Grace. Posted February 24 Posted February 24 NYD/peace is actually a great combo, sorry! I'd have loved the latter to have its own moment though but still
State of Grace. Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I personally really like her albums now not having any pre-release singles. One of the best decisions she has made this decade. I'll be avoiding all spoilers this time until it leaks comes out because the Lavender Haze LQ snippet that sounded exactly like I Think He Knows completely ruined my Midnights listening experience. My issue so far is that the rollout has been extremely boring. Midnights at least had the Mayhem With Me (which I personally liked idc) but now that the entire tracklist leaked there's.....nothing. Revealing different covers and variants every few shows is not really a "rollout". Grammys/SB/Eras Tour shows happening simultaneously make it seem like we're getting too much content from her but I hate that this is the first time in forever that I'm not feeling very excited about an album. Anyways, listening to The Alcott and manifesting its a Poets reject.
TaggedGalaxy Posted February 24 Posted February 24 The last time she released a pre-release single, she got dragged for filth and it was clearly the wrong single choice when Cruel Smasher was right there, so I'm not surprised she isn't doing pre-release singles anymore 1

I am sorry but this doesn't make sense. She made a song like Me!! What was she expecting like... She gets everyday for releasing variants but that doesn't stop her from doing them. So this is just playing safe... 1
Kern Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Nothing wrong would happen if she'd release one single before the album lol It's not like the album has only 10 songs
Magickarp Posted February 24 Posted February 24 If Post wasn't the lead, which other song do u think she's gonna attempt another viral insufferable TikTok trend of? The next "It's Me. Hi. I'm the problem it's me". The way my blood boils whenever i hear that. You're the problem alright *****. Daddy & I Can Fix Him seem the most obvious, from titles alone When But Daddy I Love him serves Squidward Nose, instead of Little Mermaid

Perfection!!! yes Beyoncé's song will be big, but it's not a situation like Flowers' peak, Taylor is at a bigger commercial peak than Beyoncé and with the tour underway no one can intimidate her, not even Beyoncé.

liam13 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 this puta keeps telling us that she has switched genres or tried new sounds many times. i really hope ttpd is a rock album cuz if not, she can choke for one second.

It’s not like the album will not be successful anyways. I think Taylor has plenty of success already, wouldn’t it be nice to at least hear one song before the release?
Great Username Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Selling my Errors tour tickets if these mashup violations persist.
Feanor Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Her last lead single to come before the album was "ME!" from 5 (!) years ago… I think she's over releasing singles prior to albums for good now.

THE is very much giving a novelty song (like WAP, for instance) that's going to be huge for a month and then fade away. It's a lot of things for Beyonce, but Old Town Road is not one of them. I do like the song, but it's not in the sound of what country radio plays these days, so I'm not expecting them to take it far, and I don't think most pop stations will be putting it into power rotation, which is pretty much required to get the crazy format longevity. There might be other material on the album that has legs, but once the novelty wears off, I don't think the people are going to be consuming what is basically a indie/country soundtrack song for a Lexus commercial.
Timeless Posted February 24 Posted February 24 You know this is easily the worst variant when the Collectors Edition CD still hasn't been sold out yet The Manuscript and The Bolter were both sold out in the UK store within a few hours
folkloreking Posted February 24 Posted February 24 And if I said YOYOK was a soft tease of this sound? When TTPD is her Oracular Spectacular, serving psychedelic pop-rock classics, then what? I can totally see Down Bad giving Electric Feel.
Slayn Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Are these mashups clues to something? Do you think songs on TTPD will have switchups midway through?
Klein Posted February 24 Posted February 24 3 minutes ago, Slayn said: Are these mashups clues to something? Do you think songs on TTPD will have switchups midway through? I think she just does them to keep things interesting and exciting for the fans. She also most certainly use them to send "cryptic" messages about what we can expect on the new album or just how she feels in general. 1
