mind you on folklore era she used to drop signed cds every week to stay at #1 but suddenly it's a problem? she's always been like this lol and I love her for that

There was a time not that long ago when most fanbases weren't pretending the music industry was some kind of big family where every pop girl loved each other unconditionally. We know that's not true, it has NEVER been true. But now that Taylor is the undisputable #1 pop girl, they still cannot cope with it and act as if she's some kind of unique evil capitalist who would do anything to "sabotage" other pop girls :toofunny3:

I really want to go back to that time where people had some honesty about what the music business is instead of pretending all pop stars except Taylor are those sweet angels that would NEVER have any ambition whatsoever and definitively don't care about charts, since caring about charts is evil apparently. Everyone except Taylor is doing commercial pop music for the love of arts these days apparently :fan2:

taylor very well knows her time could be over eventually; see exhibits A B and C

'Cause you don't feel pretty, you just feel used
And all the young things line up to take your place

Another name goes up in lights
You wonder if you'll make it out alive

I know someday I'm gonna meet her, it's a fever dream
The kind of radiance you only have at 17
She'll know the way, and then she'll say she got the map from me
I'll say I'm happy for her, then I'll cry myself to sleep

Only when your girlish glow
Flickers just so
Do they let you know
It's hell on earth to be heavenly
Them's the breaks
They don't come gently

She'll makes the best use of her time for as long as she has the platform to do so.

You don't need to be always on top to have a solid legacy. A legacy consists of more than just success. She can make use of her time on top to solidify that legacy by taking unexpected turns and risks and focusing on creating great quality classic albums. Instead she seems focused on gaming the charts by stuffing her albums to the brim to increase the streams and dropping variants to increase the sales. This album has done incredible damage to her legacy. Those who still can't see it are in total denial at this point.

Just noticed that each time she spent 10+ weeks atop BB200 in the period from initial release date through the Grammy voting period, she won:

Fearless obviously

1989 obviously

Folklore + the first half of Evermore's reign

Midnights + SNTV + 1989TV

Yeah, the extra releases got the latter two periods there, but most MPGs can get maybe 1-2 weeks on top, so even if they released as often as her, they still wouldn't be getting 10 weeks

This is the most delusional take in here :dies:. We all know if this album came out 2 years ago it'll be heralded as her best, because it actually is some of her best work, but because it came out at a time people decided they can no longer tolerate her success they decided to act like it's the worst thing ever created, and the funniest thing is, we've been down this road several times before. Artists with a third of Taylor's acclaim and success are considered legends every day on the internet, her legacy has never been more cemented. The internet hating her as it does with every woman than deciding they "love her again" is nothing new, nor is it exciting.

It's funny because I just watch Charli's Los Culturistas interview and she literally said she wants to bring back the era where popgirls were at each others necks and not always kind and supporting each other and blah blah blah and yet her fans are now running amuck screaming about how unfair it was for Taylor to block her from #1 when they pretend to not care about charts and ish. It's so transparent at this point. There's one set of rules for Taylor and Swifties and then another for everyone else. Double standards.

Oh yeah, there's blatant double standards when it comes to Taylor. What is even more baffling about the whole thing is that:

1) Charli has always been somewhat of a niche pop star, she has never been a huge sensation the way Taylor has been so i don't understand why her fans are attacking Taylor Swift of all people about CHARTS. They were never competiton to begin with.

2) Taylor had Charli as an opening act during the eputation Tour, you would think both Charli and her fans would have SOME gratitude toward Taylor for that alone instead of being nasty.

Charli fans suddenly hating Taylor out of nowhere truly makes no sense, those people literally wished DEATH on her. I just don't get why they started acting like that, what has Taylor EVER done to justify that kind of deranged hatred :rip:

EXACTLY. I've got to say...I've been watching more Charli interviews lately and while she's an interesting artist she's also kind of nasty / mean and that is reflected in some of her fans behavior (clearly). She's one of those ppl that think being mean is being a truth teller and being direct. That said, I would argue that the bulk of the random haters at least on this website arent even Charli fans. They are weird OTH who will leach off of any popgirl who has anything negative to say about Taylor or who is competing on the charts with Taylor. Watch in a couple of weeks if some other popgirl releases something everyone on here will rally around her and claim Taylor is a demonic entity from hell for blocking her :toofunny3: It's a cycle at this point (unfortunately)

Oh ABSOLUTELY. It's all extremely transparent, they've done it with so many pop stars at this point. And as a coincidence the new albums from those pop stars are always absolute masterpieces compared to TTPD which is supposedly the worst album ever made (when you know they probably haven't even listened to it).

The goal is just to blindly hate Taylor, there's never any objectivity behind any of it. But i have to say the whole thing with Billie TRULY pissed me off, since people tried (again) to paint Taylor as the villain when it was Billie and her brother who were nasty toward Taylor in a very passive aggressive way. The hypocrisy has truly gone out of control.

Of women with 4+ #1 hits as lead artists, ones that won them at least one Grammy:

v adele - all of hers

iii

rihanna - umbrella, only girl, we found love

whitney - saving all my love, i will always love, i wanna dance

beyonce - crazy in love, single ladies, break my soul

gaga - poker, shallow, rain

alicia - fallin, my boo, no one

ii

mariah - vision of love, we belong together

taylor - bad blood, all too well

janet - that's the way love goes, all for you

olivia newton-john - physical, i honestly love you

tlc - no scrubs, creep

1 ariana, paula, christina, barbra, cher, destiny's child, celine, pink, donna

0 madonna, supremes, katy, diana, cardi, britney, j lo

Hmm. I was thinking Taylor deserved more, but only one woman has more than 3. And there are some huge singles artists with 0-1, so.

How am I just now learning that Look What You Made Me Do samples the instrumental from Regina George's Halloween scene in Mean Girls? :suburban:

as someone who took a nap instead of making it to Gracie's set on the Eras Tour, her single is kind of a bop. i can see why it's the first time one of her own songs charts.

Instead of all those things why doesnt she simply release a new single to boost the streams or show behind the scenes of making the album on insta and tik tok ....to boost the album. Its high time for a new single 😄

She's not trying yet for Fortnight.

Where are my remixes? Where is More Post Malone Version?

I want them all. Fortnight is a nighttime BOP.

In the past few hours Tortured Poets has become my 10th lord album to pass 3K plays, and folklore has surpassed The Fame Monster EP to become my 6th most played album of all time.
