I think it's very hard to relate to most of these songs because they don't have that "universal relatability" factor that most of Taylor's discography has. I do still adore a lot of it lyrically though. It's a commendable departure from all her other work both in terms of poeticness of it and in terms of themes - the album is genuinely dark lyrically, but the production is very light on most songs. But Daddy, The Smallest Man and loml have been stuck in my head since release, but only because of the lyrics. 2

By gremlin do you mean Jack or Dessner or both? Cause Jack has producer credits on 16 songs and Dessner on 17 songs. They're split pretty evenly amongst the 31 songs and only share producer credits with each other on 2 of the songs.

Idk, somehow I completely relate to "specific" songs like Fortnight, Who's Afraid, The Albatross and Peter but can't connect to my life more "relatable" ones like My Boy, Down Bad, loml and The Prophecy. I don't think that this album is unrelatable or even less relatable then others. Maybe you just look at it through the lense of Taylor too much 2
