My Boy had all the makings of Taylor's next big pop classic. But the choruses don't explode like they need to. Max Martin would have delivered us another Ready for Hit if he produced it. :jonny3:

I'm starting to believe the rumors that she's broke hence she can't afford Max, and has been releasing non-stop.

That lyric and the breaking the fourth wall with the baby lyric are part of my problem with the song, actually. The song certainly has its moments, but I don't really like the chorus much.

Also not fond of the whole premise of the song being "If I want to disgrace my name by dating a racist then I will and **** all of you for ruining it" so my enjoyment of the song fluctuates wildly depending on how much I think about the context of its inspiration.

She has never said it is about Matty. That's your interpretation.

So they are poets and Chelsea Hotel has a history of its tenants / guests to be artists getting together as a community to create.

A hipster hotel, not to be disrespectful.

Apparently both Patti and Dylan lived at the Chelsea hotel for a while. He was troubled and not so successful. She was well known, loved and very successful.

It's about Karlie.

Oh wow thank you. My favorite line just got better. It's so catchy!

This Reddit thread about Taylor's response to her minority of crazy fans is going viral. Can we all take a moment to appreciate that Taylor hasn't had a big public meltdown? A lot of stars can't handle this level of fame.

Why is no one giving Peter its well deserved flowers? The song is so underrated :jonny5:

Yes, Peter and Robin are such beautiful ballads. Peter is actually doing great in streams despite being in the last 5 tracks.

Was Toe wrong for having doubts about marrying a woman who not 6 months after Lover was writing her most descriptive love & cheating songs on Matty.

lol-sincerely-ciara.gif

And not 6 months after that writing about him growing roots inside her.

lol-sincerely-ciara.gif

Reverse the sexes, & suddenly it's "Slay queen use that billionaire eco-terrorist for money"

TS12 should be called Gaslighter for the double meaning

But Daddy I Love Him will be the lyrical theme

I'd say Taylor was wrong for not leaving him around Lover because it's not normal to be 3 years into a relationship and still have all that anxiety and doubt about whether this man (that you basically left everything for) even wanted to be there.

That's why it doesn't really appeal to me. Writing a pop song with a Barbie / plastic doll metaphor is so beyond cliche. The past few years alone have seen Gaga and Miley do it on Chromatica and Plastic Hearts. :rip:

kinda my issue too! :monkey: I sometimes try to drown out the "ken" line or the "plastic smile" line and invent my own lyrics in my head as the song plays because I LOVE the melody and much of the lyrics but when there is a Barbie doll reference that is so cliche (which 99% of them are) I just zone out lol

tbh I think about the 6 and a half years she wasted on Joe often. Not because it's Taylor and Joe but more so because I would be FURIOUS AF if I literally wasted my final years of my 20s on someone who was so indifferent and unsure about our relationship....I just can't process that she went through that for THAT long all. Her giving away all that youth for free and not truly being with her soulmate by that point or just having fun and dating around is kind of sad. You're literally letting go of a part of you that is often times described as the best decade of a persons life (or at least most thrilling / exciting decade) aka your 20s. By that point if you are in a relationship it should probably be the one (or at least the one for the moment) or you should be having fun still. Instead she describes herself as being trapped and basically unloved in many ways. Idk how she put up with that. Not to say she is perfect. She probably messed up in many ways too but idk....it's just insane to me

He likes Matty and 1975, plus he doesn't like Jack's production most of the time. Not surprised he didn't like more than half the album. He had biases leading into the first listen. I'm surprised he even reacted to it seeing as he already had his mind made up :lmao:

the moment I knew he was being inauthentic with his reaction was when he was pre emptively mouthing certain lyrics he had CLEARLY already memorized by having heard the album before. I know he has the lyrics pulled up on the screen but I caught him a few times mouthing things without looking on his screen and stuff. He heard this record before he reacted and he also searched reactions to it and reviews which tainted his view on the record. He anticipated certain parts to mock them or to celebrate them. I hate inauthentic reactions. I actually can watch a SCATHING reaction if it's genuinely done on the spot and the person is just disappointed with how it sounds from a genuine first impression type of space but when you see someone who has STUDIED the work and formed an opinion prior to recording it just turns me off lol

Jack Antonoff already produced a song and album with that title for The Chicks so I'm gonna have to object to this one.

TS12 should either go full rock or full country. If she does full country, it would be a good way of setting up the release for Debut TV to guarantee 1M first week sales.

Loving this concept but doesn't The Anthology already gives off  Debut "acoustic" vibes?

Plus the Country elements on Fix Him, Slammer, and Guilty.

She should actually not go full rock nor full country at all. Rock is tired and over. Country is just now what people want.

Alt-rock or dance-country is where she should go.

My T6 songs haven't really changed a month in. I guess Who's Afraid is slowly climbing it's way back in after slipping out week 1.

Although I think now I can def say my T2 are So High School, & But Daddy I Love Him. The most Speak Now coded tracks

Aaron once again making the best tracks :clap3: #Rocklor2026

Please not Country if she's chasing commercial success... She has an actual international audience across Europe and Latin America now, a country album would be disaster in those markets....

The Anthology gives me more Vanessa Carlton vibes rather than country 🫠

I see a lot of Swifties asking for a rock album since 1989. The demand is there. Taylor goes against the current of what's popular anyways. She does what she wants. She can resurrect a dying genre.
