I get it but tbh I always took the Charli Puth line as something you say when you are high or just care free with a friend. It adds a level of comfortability with the person she is speaking with. It gives us a glimpse of how silly their convos were and how frivolous everything was to the when they were together. It's kind of one of my favorite quirkie lines of hers tbh and I dont even like Charli Puth lool! something about it makes me giggle especially knowing how dry she tends to be in conversation lol. I can imagine her saying that with a straight face and then she and the RAT bursting into laughter and stuff. It's cute :chick1:

The thing about jokes is no one should be overthinking it. Agree to disagree, but speaking of funny lyrics, Fortnight "kill her" lyrics is comical to me because of its irony.

Taylor IS a flower-watering type of person. :lmao:

"Who uses TypewriterS anyway?" is funny too like "Who's TS anyway? Ew" on 22.

And then obviously, the "NO I'M NOT" on BDILH.

To my surprise, I'm seeing more comments about The Anthology growing on them?

It's confusing because we've had this same base parading folklore as her best album and when we get another one or two (evermore, Anthology), then the succeeding albums (much better too) are suddenly not instant for them.

How can you love folklore and not like evermore and The Anthology?

tbh this line is LEGENDARY and instant so i get what you mean. Certain lines are more instant vs others and I guess with fans its easier for us to pick up on when she is being funny or trying to vs with the public so fair enough tbh

Lmao. Sorry, but this gives me "nobody loves me so I have to pretend Taylor's relationships are mine" vibes. Almost as pathetic as a gaylor.

Love Taylor's music, but the fandom is something else.

Please add me to your ignore list and I will be doing the same. Never speak or quote me again thanks.

Girl how come  Taylor is the flower-watering type of person.

This is giving that current viral speech of Travis's teammate.

The chorus of WAOLOM is also funny.

The Blank Space / Look camp of the album. We love it!

Taylor has a rooftop garden and has a lot of indoor plants like Fiddle Leaf Tree and Elephant Ears. Wdym?

That's a plant mom.

Maybe this is not the right forum (please don't report me) but once you do a little digging into who MH's mom is, addiction and substance abuse seem to have been a part of his life for a long time.

I'm not saying you don't have to take responsibility for your own actions. Just saying things aren't always so simple.

In my own mind, I may not have liked him as her boyfriend, but NO WAY was I signing an open letter. That was crossing the line and creepy.

The title song is really good but I think the Dylan Thomas, Patti Smith, and Chelsea Hotel ruin the song for me. I don't understand those references and I'm too lazy to research what she's talking about. :priceless:

So they are poets and Chelsea Hotel has a history of its tenants / guests to be artists getting together as a community to create.

A hipster hotel, not to be disrespectful.

About The Black Dog, does anyone know that song "The Starting Line"?

We've come a long way from "And you would hide away to find your peace of mind with some indie record that's cooler than mine."

We will know peace as a fandom once everyone accepts the fact that But Daddy, I Love Him is a career highlight and top 3 on this album.

Ohhhhhhhh. I'm still not familiar with those poets but Taylor is an elite poet. I bet her pen wielding hand is better than Miss Patti Smith's poems.

Whenever I listen to the title track I try to ignore every single lyric written in that song :eddie:

I love the end of the verses' melody

But you're in self-sabotage mode
Throwing spikes down on the road
But I've seen this episode and still loved the show

But the rest of the song is a nothing burger I fear.

I'm seeing the appeal. This is so Barbie coded.

That lyric and the breaking the fourth wall with the baby lyric are part of my problem with the song, actually. The song certainly has its moments, but I don't really like the chorus much.

Spoiler

Also not fond of the whole premise of the song being "If I want to disgrace my name by dating a racist then I will and **** all of you for ruining it" so my enjoyment of the song fluctuates wildly depending on how much I think about the context of its inspiration.

That's why it doesn't really appeal to me. Writing a pop song with a Barbie / plastic doll metaphor is so beyond cliche. The past few years alone have seen Gaga and Miley do it on Chromatica and Plastic Hearts. :rip:

Joebless being a drunk, coach potato, using Taylor's Netflix password is in my bingo card. :clap3:

And in a much more mature way, let's give them the credit.

"Plastic Hearts" is better, yes.

My Boy had all the makings of Taylor's next big pop classic. But the choruses don't explode like they need to. Max Martin would have delivered us another Ready for Hit if he produced it. :jonny3:

"Beauty is a beast that roars

Down on all fours

Demanding more."

Her darkest lyric to be honest.

"It's hell on earth to be heavenly."
