SleepingTigers Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Cruel Summer finally returned in the top 50 on USA Spotify, the song will never die 8
KarmaCat Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Fortnight is flopping in pop radio , they can either just let it linger/let it stagnate for a few more weeks similar to cardigan/willow, or mega "push" it up in a week or 2 then let it drop like a rock and move on to the next single aka ICDIWASMASH 1 1 1

Style and WD are the most offensive things I've ever heard. Save Max Martin's boring 2024 beats for those who can't write their own albums. That was....bad.

Taylor songs (and pretty much all big-debut songs barring the absolute biggest of smashes) have a slowdown as they enter the top 10 as PDs wait for callout scores and audience responses. It happened pretty much just like this for Anti-Hero, and that turned out fine. Fortnight already has double the number of spins that cardigan and willow had when they peaked on pop radio, so using them as a comparison is disingenuous. On top of that, Fortnight has had particularly shitty updates yesterday and today (and probably all week) because Post Malone just released his high-impact lead single. IHSH's cannibalistic increases will not last too much longer. There is zero reason to be worried about its position on pop unless the bullet goes negative and stays there, and we've got a long way to go before that's a realistic concern. Things will balance out and the growth rate will slow, but barring a super negative callout response (that doesn't seem to be likely given the initial numbers), this is far from dead on pop radio. 10
rebeltwat Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Fresh Out The Slammer is probably my biggest grower since release. It's one of my favourites now 5

If U Seek Amy Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 The way this album for me has gone from almost dislike to love is insane. This is such a grower. It still has a number of filler tracks for me but I love most of it. Every one of my friends I got to listen to it did the same, as do many online. Albums being growers is not a new thing but for some reason this one in particular is such an explicit example and it is weird 11

Delicate Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 It's a nice chill summer evening, you drive your car, turn on the radio and this masterpiece starts to play... Suddenly, life feels so good 12
chiliam Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Okie, after over 3 weeks listen to this nonstop. Like i literally didnt touch her old discography for that long, it never happens before. So just want to come in here and say the production of this album is brilliant, yeah i said it. Every details, every sound put in these songs are thoughtful and intentional. And most importantly they create a perfect atmosphere that match the song theme and lyrics, while letting her vocal and melody shine. Like they are not in your face to make the songs aged like milk, they are very subtle and aged like fine wine, the more you listen, the more you found more details to be appreciate So question for the culture, do you guys really hate the production or just automatic gonna hate everything that Jack touchs? 8
chiliam Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 16 hours ago, TeamThiem said: Fortnight doesn't need the "I love you, it's ruining my life..." section repeated two times at the end of the song. That is my only issue with the song. Drags unnecessarily at the tail end. The outro x 2 is still GOLD This. Or if she loves the line too much, she can just say it one time after the 2nd chorus. Two times are really pushing it.
cruelhprince Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 God save the most judgmental creeps who say they want what's best for me sanctimoniously performing soliloquies I'll never see thinking it can change the beat of my heart when he touches me and counteract the chemistry and undo the destinyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 1 1
