I dont know if she'll get a number 1 . That wallen song may stay put at number 1 for 12+ weeks as he has lots of streams from the gen z conservatives and millenials. He's massive. Can at least wait for day 2 or 10? In the last 2 months in this thread i read about that Kanye west being the biggest Song of all time and not even top 40 this week That hazier Song being the biggest Song of all time in the UK and after 5 weeks can't beat a Sabrina carpenter. Last week people here acted like that Sabrina Carpenter was the hit of the Summer and of the year in the US and maybe Will be lucky to re peak in top 5 4 2
wastedpotential Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I'd had really high expectations for Fortnight regarding the Billboard Year End Chart (and Decade End Chart), but now I'm just shooting for it to enter her 10 biggest Hot 100 hits so that IDWLF can finally get shoved out Spoiler Taylor Swift - Shake It Off 915,875 Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (still charting) 898,550 Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero 837,915 Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me 768,860 Taylor Swift - Blank Space 761,745 Taylor Swift - Love Story 704,900 Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble. 582,210 Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 543,438 Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood 474,963 Zayn / Taylor Swift - I Don't Wanna Live Forever 402,000 Taylor Swift Featuring Post Malone - Fortnight (first 2 weeks) 78,000 It'll need to spend a few more weeks top 5, and then a few more weeks after that top 10, and probably 30 weeks on the chart in total, but if radio doesn't immediately drop this I think that should be doable. It doesn't have to be the biggest song anywhere, so long as it stays consistently strong. The streaming has (hopefully) stabilized in a healthy place and should hold steady for a while 400k points is a lot harder now than it ever was given the current state of multipliers, but I think it's a pretty reasonable desire 5
ParisTexas Posted May 11 Posted May 11 And for a fortnight there, we were forever Run into you sometimes, ask about the weather Now you're in my backyard, turned into good neighbors Your wife waters flowers, I wanna kill her And for a fortnight there, we were together Run into you sometimes, comment on my sweater Now you're at the mailbox, turned into good neighbors My husband is cheating, I wanna kill him Ugh the suburban vibes, Stepford Wives x Valley of the Dolls imagery she evokes here 2

Unfortunately there aren't any solo hits in the near pipeline that have a chance (nothing until her next lead and that may be years off), and Fortnight is about a million times better than IDWLF as a music composition 1

Like all the elements are there for pop candy but it's aspartame instead of sugar. I think it's that sorta shimmering quality. It's grown on me some since the performance, but def not one of my favorites. That being said, it is obviously the best choice for single 2. Huge virality and fantastic performance. Dead at the description since I couldn't have said it any better, like I can't help but to be pissed off, she delivered over 30 ******* tracks, just for the the tragic gp to cherry pick the bottom of the barrel aka this and that high school mess. Not trying to shame her here, but people half her age, who were born the year she debuted are graduating HS during these couple of months, and the most frustrating thing is that she's fully aware of the perception towards her, considering the way she behaves and releasing this, yet is running with it instead of doing the exact opposite. folkmore was a real turning point but we're currently going in the wrong direction, which sucks considering there's SO MANY gems here, but the attention is going to the tracks that encapsulate the way she's viewed, throwing us a decade back where she was mainly known for the subpar part of her discography after the past couple of years where she managed to smash with actual quality... Don't get me wrong, while I worship her depressing ****, a timeless swiftian bop is still my kryptonite, like she always manages to bury at least one banger in every single release, that is both filled and laced with crack, the ones that will never rank that high among her catalogue but I'll still run into the ground for years without getting sick of, these are the ones that actually deserve to get that kind of shine if the gp is looking for the "bubbly, carefree & fun" side of her, without the need to compromise what makes her special, like where's the love for, Tell Me Why/The Story Of Us/The Lucky One/I Wish You Would/King of My Heart/I Think He Knows/Long Story Short/Paris/imgonnagetyouback...?? 2 3
mael Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Well it is lOver I guess… and I don't see anything else on the album smashing so… 3
ATRL Moderator bluebirdsforever Posted May 11 ATRL Moderator Posted May 11 Screaming at the negativity in here when the album was just boosted massively from the first tour date of a year-long leg and is outperforming Midnights / Anti-Hero pretty handily We truly have the highest standards of any fanbase on earth 10
Achilles. Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Part of me thinks that WAOLOM ought to have been the opening track of the album but part of me thinks it's too intense for that slot.
Peak Now Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Broken Fart is definitely bottom tier on the album but the GP has always been tasteless Maybe we can have a charts not arts moment
itsjem Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Fortnight having 2.3M streams in the US and being 8 is absolutely nuts
vale9001 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 (edited) Until now not only It's outstreaming midnights but even bad bunny un Verano sin ti. That album 22nd day was around 56M. Midnights went under that album in day by day comparison after like 12-13 days. Until now no doubt will be the fastest album to get 3B and 4B too. Edited May 11 by vale9001
ALA Posted May 11 Posted May 11 The album had 3 of the biggest streaming weeks of the year and it's "over"... uhhh
Gladiator Posted May 11 Posted May 11 This album really has its foot on my neck. Only one version at a time though. I really appreciate that. I'll go a few days exclusively listening to standard, then the next few days listening to The Anthology, and then the next few days the standard. It's like two different narcotics. Her mind.

vale9001 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 (edited) the eras tour is like a perpetual Super Bowl. Its effect on charts is like that. Wherever she tours is like this show put people on (or back?) to her catalog and than they stay with it for months...so her daily streams average becames bigger and bigger and bigger. With the tour coming now in germany, france, Italy, Poland, Uk, Spain etc... (all these countries combined are bigger than the Us or the latina countries she toured) i think the album will have crazy legs all summer. Like with a proper second single could stay in the 40M daily range for a long time. Edited May 11 by vale9001
Buffy Posted May 11 Posted May 11 WAOLOM is the I Did Something Bad of TTPD and the Picture To Burn/Stupid Boy of debut. I hope Stupid Boy will be a debut TV vault track. She was angry in that one!
Cloröx Posted May 11 Posted May 11 TTPD has more replay value than Midnights, I've been playing Guilty as Sin, So High School and The Bolter on loop right now
Badgalbriel Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Fortnight is such a great song, my god. Just wish the production punched a little harder. 1
Nova_23 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Just coming in here to say that Down Bad is still that song and should be a single 1 1
Magickarp Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Anti-Zero only smashed harder cuz it was "relatable" in the insufferable TikTok sense. Fortnight is a better song, with smarter lyrics, & a less insufferable instrumental. It's less relatable to most, but it's very relatable to me because i basically went through exactly what she went through with Shawn & Camila.
cruelhprince Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Fortnight will have incredible legs throughout the summer. it's an amazing song and an easy listen + the performance is incredible. today's boost was a great sign 2
