I'm skipping this opinion and look into other people's posts.

You can do whatever you want. Doesn't change dessner took a track on his PC, Taylor wrote some lyrics and they made this track in 5 minutes.

Reasons some critics hated this albums are tracks like this there are only there to 15 tracks for more streams, without any kind of inspiration or trying to do something

I'm pretty sure the critics called out Jack Antonoff.

I fear this is just gonna damage the airplay of the Song when It's gonna be needed.

these tend to be smaller stations so shouldnt make too much of a dent.

No the more acclaimed part is the First One.

Critics listen more than 5 albums at year don't scream quality at every piano ballad and to songs with a Guitar.

well maybe it's the reason is so weak  then. Even if that one about Kim K is the worst. These songs are serving nothing. First time Pitchfork almost really panned her is anthology.

The anthology has several very good songs for the melodies and the lyrcs but the discussion about first part production being "basic" when the only two songs on anthology are not basic and very unventive  are The manuscript and The prophecy is the very reason you should use that emoticon.

This discussion is useless since Taylor is not dropping neither Jack nor Aaron anytime soon, even though she should (even if it's just for one album, just to try something different).

All we can do is combine in prayer for TS12. :deadvision:

that was a classic. We really have to explain this album for his lows and highs is the first part, the musical and narrative relevant part is there.

The second part is just made to have a double album. Her game a pop album then a surprise second part with the "pretentious" music was enough one time, critics are not stupid. Dessner and Taylor are too talented with the melody to make something bad but it doesn't serve a true album material. It's made for some of her basic fans thinks long song and piano ballads with a depressed voice are THE QUALITY and well apparently it works and they are happy with it. So she's genius after all, wins all the targets (but it's different with critics and her peers after the game is showed). It's important to know grammy voters vote for midnights for great pop songs like Anti hero, midnight rain, you're on your own kid and not for that EP  :gaylorcat2:

After some weeks this is how the album is sittin on me :gaycat4:  This album is like wine it gets better with time.
Havent listened the whole project yet. Need time for the rest of the songs

Fave from least faves:

Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? (So haunting. Someone should remake the instrumental in a more rockier version. Feels magical. Very REP)
Loml (So heartbreakin) (Is this her saddest ballad)?
The Albatross (Omg i love the Chorus so much) Feels like Wide Awake. My hype for this song was low and im in love. I visualize the Sea and Ships
Down Bad/So Long, London (Just Beautiful)
I Can Do It with a Broken Heart (So much Fun. I would love more songs similar to this in the next record)
I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)/Fresh Out the Slammer (I live for Western songs)
My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys (I can visualize the vid)
Florida!!! (Florence Vocals are just beautiful)
Fortnight
"The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
The Tortured Poets Department (The Choris is cute but a song about matty healy yikes)
Clara Bow (Is This About Sabrina Carpenter? :eli:)
The Black Dog (This is the song i was hyped the most but the melody is not my fave. The rocky Chorus is strong)
So High School (This is cute. Would love more of this for the next record)
Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus
The Alchemy
Guilty as Sin? (Everyone praising this one but not doin that much to me) (I dont wanna know about the sx lives of my faves thanks)
How Did It End?
Imgonnagetyouback
But Daddy I Love Him (Cringe with the lyrics)

Yesterday's drop was amazing, around 2% which is less than Midnights 3am had at the same point... This slow a** album will really outperform Midy in the short term at least lmao :jonnycat:

This is so cute and camp. Maybe we can acknowledge #him sometimes.

Has anyone else returned to playing MIDnights? I thought that chicken was lovely.

The Albatross getting love :heart2:

I've always loved this song since the release, and I still love it now.

And also the But Daddy I Love Him praise from the previous pages. It just keeps on growing!

In my mind I made a music video for Fresh Out the Slammer that uses I Can Fix Him as the prologue music where she steps into an old western saloon and falls for a bad cowboy. But then the cowboy frames her for one of his crimes and she gets arrested and thrown in jail. Then FOTS starts as she's being released and she's dressed as a cunty cowgirl and seeks to get her revenge on him for ******* her over. A Kill Bill kind of serve. :jonny:

60M streams on spotify at the 19th day :bibliahh: This is why every other artist hopes for opening day

a lot of male executives are already fuming and calling Billboard to change the streaming rules as we speak. These numbers more than humiliate any other thing around.

I think the moment will be when she will outsold Billie second week (after probably being not that far even on the devut week) and everyone will start to talk about how poor billie has only 10 tracks and mean taylor 30.

this album has reminded me of 2 songs, both just pop in my head randomly. the first is Glitch, i guess tonally it's the most similar song she has to this album? it wouldn't sound out of place.

but the second song i keep hearing is Mine by Kelly Clarkson. this was so random to me, I couldn't even recall what the song was at first. but the bridge, which is a big switch from the rest of the song, feels very similar to some songs on TTPD. it has that anger and heartbreak that you feel on Smallest Man, LOML etc. i just thought it was really interesting that my mind made this connection subconsciously.

I'm so glad this album was so bad imo. It helped me become less of a fan or hers. Something I had been trying to do but failed to because the music was quite good.

I Can Do It With a Broken Busssy probably should be the 2nd single even though I'm not a huge fan of it.

Down Bad is more of a promo single type thing I think?

3rd single should be Guilty As Sin? with a radio revamp (like she did with Wildest Dreams back in the day...added more drum)

ideal situation:

Fortnight

I Can Do It

Guilty as Sin?

end era or add a fourth single (I would LOVE a random ballad or Daddy I Love Him being a country single or something)

Agreed. I thought Fearless instantly the first time I heard it. Very classic Taylor when she was only seven point eight and three fifths into her career as a woman at twenty and five years and two months plus three days four hours seventy-eight minutes one-thousand seconds and four hundred and twenty nano seconds into her singing musical theater and ballroom dancing country-first wearing a blue green cocktail dress and black socks in blue tights with a white fringe on a yellow horse hair scrunchie pressed against a matted, un-dyed hair into her career! Wow! She did that!!
