I fell asleep to C&Rs Anthology reaction. Save me Queen!

lol... she came through as always

I loved Peter before, but I'll need a while to recover from the cardigan connection she just pointed out...

Spoiler

I feel so dump for not realizing that it wasn't just a random name :gaycat6:

Peter -> The Bolter -> Robin is still my 1,2,3 punch.

She was in her folklore -> Debut -> Evermore BAGS.

I Can Fix Him would have benefited from a tempo change like FOTS and TSMTEL, something a bit faster-paced after the 2:10 mark... imagine a breakdown

Wait I hadn't fathomed the guitar licks in Robin (I thought about a biblicization but it felt tacky here for the poor kid's name) starting at around the 1:30 mark :jonny5:

Why is it giving peace long pond :jonny5:

Literally dying thinking about the fact that song of the summer Espresso is from the girl who was the subject of the Olivia Rodrigo song that sampled Cruel Summer and is now Taylor's tour opener. Everything feels part of the Swift(multi)Verse nowadays. The cultural nucleus.

And now I find out Sabrina is performing with Jake Gyllenhaal on SNL. It just never ends.

I've definitely given this a lot of thought over the past few days

People try to deny her impact, but it's literally right in front of us...

The album is now within 10 slots of Loser on my all time charts. It has to breeze through Pop Girl Alley to get there: Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Natalia Kills, Beyoncé, Kacey Musgraves.

I love this piece so much. Refreshing to see someone thoughtfully engaging with the songcraft and writing style.

This dissection of The Manuscript made me appreciate it so much more

I still can barely understand what`s the song is about

The manuscript is truly a "what is she yapping about?" moment, even for a fan.

I knew there`s some lyrical masterpiece in there but it will take sometimes and some deep dives to get there.

For now the song is still a dud for me.

Not her plagiarizing Aristotle.

Cardigan is at least good... She plagiarized Humpty Dumpty on... The Archer... another unforgivable offense from Loser

For now the song is still a dud for me.

The Manuscript is basically about how the rerecording process caused her to reflect upon her past experiences, how she wrote about them at the time, and how those feelings have changed over time. Given the lyrics, it seems to be specifically reflecting on All Too Well: Jake was the last older guy she dated before moving on to "boys who were her own age." And the bridge about the actors could be about filming the music video for the song.

"The story isn't mine anymore" ties to both her Eras Tour speeches before Lover: "I write these songs and give them to you and you apply them to your own lives" and her older tour speeches about how ATW was such a gut-wrenching song for her until she shared it with us and we made it into such a special thing. It's about how her stories stop being only hers once she shares them with the world.
