Guys… it just clicked that starting this Monday, Taylor will have earned 29 top 10 Hot 100 hits in the 2022-2024 timeframe.

 

She earned earned 30 from 2006-2021. She doubled her 15 years old numbers in TWO YEARS. That's INSANE omfg!!!!

The issue with The Psychology is that the latter half is monotonous beyond The Bolter. They are all good to great songs independently, but it does drag on especially if you play the whole 31 songs in sequence.

ok so while the conspiracies are kinda dumb I do KIND OF believe that with this album cycle certain labels from top AOTY contenders may have preemptively "addressed" some critics they knew they could have on a pay roll to pan the record so that ANY semblance of it actually potentially winning AOTY gets demolished despite it's inescapable success and media coverage AND pretty solid reviews (OVERALL). It's smart and makes people within the committee second guess themselves before voting for TTPD even if they genuinely enjoyed the record. Sucks but kinda smart and strategic.

Anyone else think that maybe she should have released The Anthology as a separate record kind of like Evermore? Like let people soak in TTPD for a solid 6-8 months and then BAM surprise us with The Anthology? I feel like it's such a beautiful record that deserved it's own time to shine in a way.

I mean, I don't think it's winning AOTY, but b/c she already broke the record this year. Not because people in the industry actually gaf about what critics say.

Babel 63 metascore, 24k magic 70. we are doesn't have a metascore b/c so few critics even heard it.

she didn't like the relative flop trajectory of that album so didn't want to repeat it.

There's some fishiness going on but I honestly don't mind if she loses. I don't think Midnights should have won so in a way it'd be self-correcting. Plus, the cycle of hate that started with her NFL presence kind of peaked when she won for Midnights. If she misses a nomination and we get a "I must make a better album" tea again though...

We will be considering and ranking them separately, I will not allow the discourse to keep going in its current direction! Like I'm talking about lowest replay sings on TTPD and people are bringing up Robin and The Manuscript... we can't let this continue. They are two ablums, don't let Lord's chart hacking distract us from this

oh I hope she doesn't take it like that At this point in her career she probably knows all the politics behind winning AOTY and that they often ksin on quality records. It's why I think her win for Midnights was GENUINLY shocking to her because she knew Midnights was a solid record but not top 3 best so she prob didnt expect a win but then she kinda won off the back of her having had such a massive era and tour and hype. That said, I'm really REALLY excited to see how she kind of responds to the critics with TS12. Like someone else said a few days ago...Taylor is VERY motivated by validation from critics and the public alike. While TTPD got her public validation in the form of record breaking success, she didn't quite get the critical reception she prob thought she'd get so I wonder what she;ll do with TS12. I just hope she COMPLETLY ignores their criticism about how much music she churns out...I want her to KEEP FEEDING US lol

THANK YOU sis. I am with you on that. I hate how it's being devalued just because it was born a couple hours late  LITERALLY serving twin born a couple seconds later and still being treated like it's the younger, ignored sibling when it was just birthed a little while later
