My theory that I'm hanging onto (I know it's not true but I have to believe) is that they're real and Taylor is behind the leaks because she knows they'd spread like wildfire and it's free promo. She can then act upset about the leaks and somehow lead that into Rep (TV)

That's what I am thinking too in my delusional mind. It gets hyped up.

THIS. I will never understand why Enchanted is so many people’s fav on Speak Now. I’m starting to believe it’s all the people who haven’t actually listened to her country albums in full. I’d put it bottom 5 on SN.

I mean, wasn't it already one of the all time fan favorite before she even made pop?

I'm predicting another variant being revealed in Sydney :gaylorcat1:

• “The Last Time” is the superior ballad on Red and “Sad Beautiful Tragic” is just average.

The emotional rollercoaster of finally seeing someone recognizing the excellence of The Last Time, only to be followed by a Sad Beautiful Tragic drag was wild. I do not know how to feel.

I found enchanted something still very unique in her catalog even after she made 7 albums more.

It's like the typical old Taylor Swift storytelling, and  a very long Song, but with the pop euphoria of the future.

Something She didn't put together in the same way in the future.

So i can understand why people discovered It and found It like something different from the Taylor Swift they knew or were listening to at the time.

• The second half of the second verse of “Daylight” is a bit unnecessary and feels out of place.

Omg no this is one of my favorite moments in any Taylor song ever :chick3: the bar spitting delivered

People criminalizing og versions too much. They're still her work and she still getting money from streams.
I never stream og anyway, 'cause I'm too lazy to go for another album just so I could play normal version of Style, Red, Holy Ground, etc. But the overall "you're not a swiftie if you listen to STOLEN VERSIONS THAT WERE STOLEN FROM HER BY BIG BAD GREEDY MEN and you don't respect her art" narrative is bullshit. :pig:

This is tea. Also, I prefer the originals over the rerecordings for all albums sans Fearless. I know Debut will be an upgrade as well, duh, and then rep… I don’t even want to imagine it. Just a personal taste thing, since I get why lots like the new versions as well. I’m a bit hyper aware of production elements that many wouldn’t pay attention to.

The main thing is that I wish fans were all a bit more normal about these takes and would just let people prefer one version, whichever it may be, without being so pretentious. “No you can’t prefer the originals, there’s zero difference at all, you’re a fake Swiftie!!11!!1” vs. “The new versions are literal audio farts, you’re deaf for preferring them!!1!1!1”

Like omg — BE. NORMAL. Yes, there are differences and it’s okay if some people don’t like them, but it’s also okay if some people (evidently many people, judging by the streaming numbers) like the changes. There’s really not any way to measure which version is objectively the best.

Gary sounds awful on the rerecording of The Last Scripture, but the guitar solo and added harmonies/production elements sound absolutely divine. A song, why do critics hate it?

Is it because the outro is unapologetically lifted from Chasing Cars (which isn’t shocking since the same guy produced both)?

Regarding iconic Taylor ballads and TTPD; does anyone else expect something very similar to The Alcott on the record? I can’t decide if So Long, London will be a gorgeous piano ballad that explodes with electric guitars or a slow, lush piano ballad a la The Alcott or Tolerate It, but I’m honestly here for either. Anyway, I really hope there’s a song on the album that sounds like The Alcott. And please no more TLGAD/LSS/Renegade rehashes (as much as I love all three of those, don’t get me wrong), I need some totally new productions from Aaron :kitty:

I will never understand why taylor willingly chose to collab with Gary Lightbody and Brendon Urie out of all people

All I know is I need "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart" to sound like an older sister of "Safe & Sound". :jonny:

And "So Long, London" should have the same quality as "Sad Beautiful Tragic", as in it needs to feel like you are actually on the road while listening to it, leaving the place that was so dear to your heart. :jonny:

i want So Long, London to give Holy Ground, glorifying her love to Joe but also saying goodbye in an endearing way

i don't want TTPD to be a total slashing of Joe, i want it to be a record of love, heartbreak, growing apart, AND slashing.

If there's a mega successful artist begging to work with Lord on one road and a flop on the other, Lord is running to the flop.

if you think about it, it seems like the album is written chronologically

track 6: So Long, London - actually breaking up

track 7: Fresh out of the Slammer - leaving JAIL

track 8: Florida!!! - TOURING

track 9: Guilty as Sin? - feeling guilty for thriving

track 10: who's afraid? - feeling alone and self-depricating

track 11: I can fix him - the Matt Healy era

track 12: loml - crying about joe again

track 13: I Can Do It With A Broken Heart - this is about the Eras Tour, it will be The Eras Tour Long Live

I don't think we're getting a chronological album, I don't think she has ever done that

I would argue reputation is somewhat chronological

If Taylor suddenly stopped releasing music right this moment, which of her albums would chart the highest 5/10/15/20 years from now?

Hint: Not Reputation :ryan3:

Yep. But only because the whole concept was "I was cancelled, but I still have my lover, so I'll be fine" and she needed to serve some dark/angry vibes in the first half of the album so she could go to softer lovely place then

New game: what’s your controversial Swiftie opinion that would get you cancelled by swifties?? I’ll start: I want Taylor to experiment with hyperpop one day

The love songs on Reputation ruin the album and should have been used for Lover

I remembered a scene in Miss Americana where she sat in the car and there was a lot of fans and she said that it's not okay. And now I think... was she really that concerned and angry about this happening to her or was she just projecting Joe's feelings about her popularity? And no, of course I know that it's NOT normal when they stalk her like that, but in that time.. was it really coming from herself?

She wrote The Lucky One way before Joe. She has a hate-love relationship with the fame. I think it depends on her mood. When she feels good, she doesn't mind the fans, but when she feels low she hates the pressure. It's honestly a miracle that she is still so sane after so many years under extreme pressure, especially considering she got famous as a teenager. It's extremely rare that she seems to be stable and she can handle all this ****. And a honorable mention for Travis Kelce, because joining her world at this level and doing it so smoothy is quite impressive.

1) 1989

2) folklore

3) Red

4) Fearless

Not sure after that.
