19SLAYty9 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Fortnight is lyrically an essential Taylor song. The weather / sweater change of lyrics in the chorus? I mean cmon now. I see why it was the lead.
RobynYoBank Posted April 26 Posted April 26 But why is TTPD actually her most consistently catchy album since 1989 (and maybe ever)

Taylor fanboy Posted April 26 Posted April 26 First and last lines: PTSD-Psychology I was supposed to be sent away but they forgot to come and get me. Now and then I re-read the manuscript but the story isn't mine anymore. PTSD I was supposed to be sent away but they forgot to come and get me. The future's bright… dazzling. Psychology I am someone who, until recent events, you shared your secrets with and your location. Now and then I re-read the manuscript but the story isn't mine anymore. Well, at least I tried. 1

ATRL Administrator Ryan Posted April 26 ATRL Administrator Posted April 26 And I'm runnin' with my dress unbuttoned Screamin', "But, Daddy, I love him I'm havin' his baby" No, I'm not, but you should see your faces I'm tellin' him to floor it through the fences No, I'm not coming to my senses I know he's crazy, but he's the one I want 4

Avrileon Posted April 26 Posted April 26 as much as i love her and TTPD smashery, i really wish she will work with new producer / composer for TS12. I really want her to dump the synth sound and the basic C-G-Am-F chord progression. Her lyrics are superb— we all know it. But I wish she explore more sound and more chord progression so her melodies will be more complex and interesting too. 7
rivingtonrebel Posted April 26 Posted April 26 The real question we have for now is will we get another single from this?

skwonderfactory Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I'm hoping THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT set is directly after Midnights a.k.a. the final one and it goes: First off: Permanently change the lyric in "Karma"'s bridge to "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs / Coming straight home to me" every single night/performance for foreshadowing to: 1. "The Alchemy" (without outro) 2. "The Tortured Poets Department" 3. "Fortnight" (verse 2, chorus 1, chorus 2, bridge, outro only) > transitions from Outro to > "Florida!!!" (bridge and final chorus only) 4. "Down Bad" 5. "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" 6. "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" (with extended band and dancers outro) • She can cut "The Archer", "marjorie", "invisible string"/"the 1", "Bad Blood", and "Mastermind" from the regular setlist. 1
Achilles. Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I know this would be bad for an album's debut stats, but I just think it would be really funny if she pre-released like 6 songs and sent all of them to #1 to snatch that MJ/KP record. She might as well. There's nothing else to accomplish. 5
