How do you measure that? :celestial5:

She put some crack into Fortnight, I have never been more incorrect about a Lord first single. :alexz:

Anyways I hope for the next project she changes the strategy and release at least 1 single.

One of the reason some people reacted bad for Midnights and this especially it's the fact she announces music and then leaves 3 months with nothing ...so people start with "I want an album sounds like Prince Sign of times, i want an album sound like Britney Blackzone, i want an album sounds like Bebe rexha last ep, i want her Bob Dylan desire etc.. and than this leave to disappointment whatever it is.

not i'm not saying some of the songs would have played better with more modern soft rock influences than 80s synt pop rock but announcing an album and a first song 3 days after would help people to set their expectations

anyways as i said before and several times she made this record also while touring, making the TVs etc... so working a lot of the sound reinventation i don't think she had the time to real control a process like that and was too risk and could have gone wrong, so she played safest also for this reason..

she wrote these songs as she said most on a piano, she had these songs ready and wanted to share them and of course worked with her current team, it wasn't  the moment to also find the time to create new connections and teams and really trying new things with the instrumental. She tried new things here more with the pure process of writing ...with the melodies and with the lyricism.

Taylor's success scrambling the brains of her haters is hilarious to watch. They wanted the GP to hate the album SO BADLY. :ahh:

But you're in self-sabotage mode
Throwing spikes down on the road
But I've seen this episode and still loved the show

Oh title track you will ALWAYS be famous. @wastedpotential

The production on the title track is just so bad... like those drums are so basic :deadbanana2: it needed to be some rebellious grungier sound

And melodically it's just a basic Lover'd track like it's giving a random track 12 not thee title track and #2 :clack:

I could see the "No I'm not but you should see your faces" going viral on TikTok, make it happen :jonny5:

How did it end is so beautifully sad and those haunting melodies

Her voice is so pained and the lyrics

People really want to say this is her worst album...

You mean her second highest charting album on the BB200? No wonder the title track will stand the test of time.

All of the artists that you mentioned could be characterized in the same way. They have a style and that's not a problem. Taylor obviously doesn't have as big a range as the people you mentioned, but her style fits her storyteller songwriter very well. If you see performances of Taylor songs on singing shows most of the time they feel flat even though the singers are technically gifted. Rihanna who you mentioned is a similar case (not that it's the same style, but that her style is a uniquely good fit for her music).

Her always singing "about the same topic" is demonstrably false and an argument I'm not willing to engage with. I assume you're not familiar with her entire catalogue or just don't like her, which, again, is fine. I choose to focus on artists that I do enjoy despite being on a site like ATRL.

i just answered your question, wasnt planning on "convincing" anyone.

i am familiar with her entire catalogue and i am neutral on her. id say like her enough to play her songs on a daily. last fm said shes my #12 artist overall

I love how some are so stuck in their own reality to them the numbers are suspicious. Like your version of reality doesn't make it objective 💀 even in my work's corporate meetings people will discuss her and they don't ever talk about pop culture much EVER. And this has happened at multiple jobs

It is probably to the large amounr of songs too, but this album sees her as the most expressive. She was writing madly. :clap3:

you can laugh lie you want at people giving 1 at this album with any reason it's on the music. For no one opens spotify this is a 1/10 or a 2/10 album.

As i wrote days ago they have 3 days of laughs, now are coming months - years of being mad

Love left me like this
And I don't want to exist
So take me to Florida
Little did you know, your home's really only a town you're just a guest in
So you work your life away just to pay for a timeshare down in Destin
Little did you know, your home's really only the town you'll get arrested
So you pack your life away just to wait out the sh*tstorm back in Texas
FLORIDA

Ugh what a rush, this cinematic masterpiece

Whew, amount of details in these songs is something else. I mean, just pressing play on So High School throws us into some comedy drama coming of age 2000s movie. :heart2:
