No promo is also hurting it. Not even one late night show?

Streaming has been great. Promo doesn't do much anymore. Hopefully , she is rehearsing a TTPD set for the tour which would help alot .

I know she sucks at tracklist placing, but you really think she would follow The Smallest Man with The Alchemy if they were for the same person? :gaycat7:

However, I feel the TTPD is one of her best tracklist placements, it really tells you a story. The Anthology gets messy again tho, but not complaints.

In terms of straight album sales, that 1.6 million total is inclusive of both over-the-counter and download purchases of The Tortured Poets Department made April 19-22, in addition to a likely large number of pre-orders of the album through Internet retailers that were shipped to customers for arrival on release day.

Are we all in agreement that "loml" is the best track on TTPDTA and top 5 of all time?

Maybe I'm late, but did y'all see that The Black Dog confirms the timeline? She recorded it on May 18 based on that clip of her in the studio singing it and what she was wearing that day. In the song she references six weeks gone by. They broke up top of April/end of March. Whole thread confirming the recording dates was fascinating.

This is probably sacrilege and I know some people will not be happy. But I've made my split of the album into two.

A more folklore/ witchy pop version of the album which is mainly Dessner with some Antonoff thrown in. I've called it THE BLACK DOG, as not only is this one of my favourite songs but in British folklore the black dog is a demonic hellhound that seeks revenge. Which feels kind of apt for the songs and vibe in this tracklisting.

Spoiler
  1. The Bolter
  2. Fresh Out The Slammer
  3. Guilty as Sin?
  4. Who's Afraid of Little Old Me
  5. The Prophecy
  6. But Daddy I Love Him
  7. So High School
  8. Clara Bow
  9. thanK you aIMee
  10. I Hate it Here
  11. Florida!!!
  12. I Look in Peoples Windows
  13. So Long, London
  14. The Black Dog
  15. Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus
  16. Peter
  17. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  18. How Did It End?

Then the second album is where things get potentially controversial. These all Antonoff songs, but it is a mix of the poppier songs from TTPD and then the 1989 vault songs - with one other vault addition.. All these songs (bar one or two), are about two "poetic" British musicians and they all have a similar and cohesive sound. It would keep The Tortured Poets Department title. I actually really like this tracklist sequencing.

Spoiler
  1. The Tortured Poets Department
  2. ****!
  3. Down Bad
  4. Say Don't Go
  5. You're Losing Me…
  6. My Boy Always Breaks His Favourite Toys
  7. Now That We Don't Talk
  8. I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
  9. Suburban Legends
  10. Fortnight
  11. Imgonnagetyouback
  12. The Alchemy
  13. Is It Over Now?

Anyways, if anyone listens to these like this let me know what you think. I enjoy them split like this.

1st day: 1.4m (600k vinyls)

2nd day: 1.5m (700k vinyls)

4th day: 1.6m (800k vinyls)

Is that not ZERO CDs and Digital sold since after the release day??? Or does it give 2+2=6 because you see there is an additional 2 that the government hid?
