People always tune in, so unless the pre-album lead is a disaster like ME! I doubt it would affect first day streams. What it could do though, is give more visibility to more songs on the album in the long run, which will in time increase streaming longevity for the entire album. 2 million + first week is guaranteed anyway. Hello helped 25's first week sales, so the Easy on Me situation is not the only possible scenario 25 was in 2015. It doesn't work like that in the streaming era anymore. A lead single won't make the album any bigger, either it has no impact of if it's bad (and we know Taylor isn't always the best at choosing singles) then it can hurt first week streaming numbers significantly
Saint James Posted February 15 Posted February 15 this Fortnight snippet is 100% real!! haven't found the other one yet

Tal_reputation Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I don't take a lot of the title tracks cause we don't know what the vibe is. it could be either way. reputation is in my top 3 albums and tracks like 'King Of My Heart' 'I Did Something Bad' followed by 'Don't Blame Me' could sound cringe and/or corny when you don't know how they sound. but they are some of my favorites on reputation. plus, Taylor IS corny. she is cringe. she said so herself "embrace the cringe". it's nothing new with her and I still love her music. though Loser is her worst album ever in my opinion so I do hope we DON'T get Loser 2.0 or to be honest even Midnights 2.0. I don't another album that we listen to and we say "oh, that sounds like a Red song" I want her to surprise us. I was shocked (for the best) when 1989 came out, when reputation came out, when folklore came out. midnights was a disappointing album to me. I only love the 3am edition. i'm over the synth pop Jack of it all. and I know better than to just blame Jack because apparently he's works with Lana and other artists show he can produce different music, so the blame is on Taylor and Jack together making the same old songs over and over again. so I am in the camp of NOT wanting an entire Jack album again like midnights. enough. he can produce 2-3 songs and that's it. not an entire album!! regarding the poets... I have no thoughts. I am excited. I just don't wanna get disappointed again like I was with Midnights. I want real instruments sound. and by that I mean, not not necessarily have to record with live instruments. I don't care if it's a drum machine or whatever. I want the songs to sound like a real guitar. bass, drums. i'm tired of Jack and Taylor synth pop.

Mandalore Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Again, looking at the track names, the cover art and the overall vibes I don't NOT think this is going to be anywhere near Folklore or Evermore. Heck, the title track/album title is kinda giving me sarcasm/snark but I could be wrong. I'm expecting a Pop album with lyricism in the vein of You're Losing Me and Hits Different, ie, more personal and unrestrained than what Midnights hinted at. 2

YR. Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Using this name for a pop album is deeply unserious. I just hope we get a real album this time 2
Bosque Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) Why are people talking about obviously fake AI snippets everytime I enter this thread? 1989 TV literally didn't even leak when several people already held the vinyl in their hands. No one wants to go to jail for life just to get some clout for leaking her tracks. Go stream Evermore instead Edited February 15 by Dephira 3

Magickarp Posted February 15 Posted February 15 When the AI snippet is pulls another Suburban Legends "Party like it's 1989" and outdoes the actual song 1 1

Not above pop. not at all. my favorite albums are reputation, folklore and speak now. I just don't want to feel like a new album sound like an older one of hers. I watched so many youtube reactions of 1989 TV and a lot of fans said the vault tracks sound like midnights songs. and that's not what I want. I don't want us to listen to TTPD and think "oh, this sound like a rep song" or this is a midnights reject. I want Taylor to surprise and do something different/new. it doesn't mean I don't want pop. my Jack issue is nothing to do with pop. i'm just tired of their work together. 3
meredithbenson Posted February 15 Posted February 15 so what cringe tiktok trend do we think taylor will try to make happen this time? (like the eyeliner vigilante **** one, the "anti-hero challenge" lol, etc.) i think it'll be doing fortnite dances to fortnight

April 19th sounds so far away now Edited February 15 by Mandalore
joannna Posted February 15 Posted February 15 the snippet has been on TikTok for 1 whole day with over 100k views. its clearly AI otherwise Taylor's team would have deleted it within 3 seconds. ANYWAY...
joannna Posted February 15 Posted February 15 i cant stop thinking about how i thought cardigan would be her peak, and then she gave me RIGHT WHERE YOU LEFT ME. then i thought rwylm would be her peak, and then she gave me MAROON and ANTI-HERO. if anything, if this album disappoints i would be relieved because she needs to get her foot OFF MY NECK for a bit. 1
