ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Fortnight is so good WTF. I thought it would be mid based on what everyone was saying, but it's perfect. Post Malone sounds good on it too, the synths are so moving.

I LOVE the album sonically speaking but there is a odd distance and sense of "coldness" to the record. It's kind of akin to Midnights in the sense that a lot of the lyrics and sentiments in general are a little esoteric and occulted compared to her previous work which was much more in your face, direct, raw and CLEAR. Something does feel a little obstructed...there's like a thin screen separating the artist and the music from the listener...I thought that feeling would only be a Midnights thing but it has lingered onto Tortured Poets and I dont know how to feel about THAT aspect. Aside from that...the music is BANGING but i know what u mean in a way. theres also a very noticeable reverb like effect on her voice at all times so quite literally there is a filter between her and our ears i miss when not everything sounded moody w her vocals 2
Burqa Posted April 18 Posted April 18 looking back it's so funny that a month ago someone suggested that I Can Fix Him could be about Matty and we all jumped them saying that if Calvin only got 1 song Matty wouldn't get any
Da Vinci Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Anyway.... The more I listen to Clara Bowie the more it becomes the best song on the alberm??? Laced with narcotics indeed

omrimayo Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Fun. "Fortnight" by@taylorswift13ft.@PostMalone will officially be promoted to US radio upon its release as the first official single from 'The Tortured Poets Department'
BlowYourMind Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I'm happy with the album, but I do hope there is a secret deluxe tonight - similar to the 3AM version. Especially because she said last time this is how she does "the vault" for music she owns.
Indie Posted April 18 Posted April 18 At this point I don't think the ✌️s won't amount to much outside of teasing Fortnight. She's torturing US as promo, a reverse warholian experience

I'm damaged after what she did with 3AM, I will always want something similar even if I know and knew it won't happen again. It's only myself to blame, not her. 1 1
AvadaKedavra Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) Ok i wanna give a new listen to the album today after a dissapointing yesterday. Lets see if i can digest this better. From rice cakes to creamy almond pie I love Tay, (She's actually my second most played artist on last fm) so i wanna like this. I liked like half of the album but i feel a bit in the sidelines with the rest To be honest my expections were. An album filled with joe songs. I didnt expect to have so many ratty healy songs. This is probably one of the reasons why im havin a hard time connectin with the record. Hard to relate to the lyrics of someone that gross. I just cringe with her feelings and excuses for him here. Entitled much? Yes lets excuse someone really problematic Lemme try to separate the music from him and make these songs belong to mine. The Lyrics. Associate them with people from my past My neighboor she was the smallest woman who ever lived and she ghosted me I feel like a lot of these songs feel like sketches and with a fuller production they could be amazing. Like the ones with western tones. They are too simple synthpop. I just wish this was more experimental or had strange sonic twists. Feels too coloress-white-sanitized. But i wonder if that was taylor idea. She just went straight to the point. Nothing overly complex cause we are talkin about matty healy. A basic man A bit convoluted with the lyrics. Grand and the same time trying too much. Still it has some really good songs if youre very moody and in the blues. Feels like a distant cousin of Folklore-Evermore. The difference with Foklore-Evermore. The production in those albums is more lush and folky and evocative? Here feels too overly lo-fi to me-organic. This album to me in words is Dread! I would like to remind everyone here how we all have individual experiences. If youre lovin the album. Thats amazing Sometimes certain albums suit certain people and others dont. Dont pay attention to the thoughts of others. Dont let it ruin the album for you Edited April 18 by AvadaKedavra 1
devonedelrey Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Down bad is clearly the best single worthy song on this album why did she chose that fortsnooze lo

Even though Midnights is more cut-and-dry pop, this album is really setting a solid sonic vibe. I'm liking this one more on first listen tbh
omrimayo Posted April 18 Posted April 18 US, the fans only to blame, now this is all over Twitter even though we know it won't come... Hear me out… What if we get the standard version of #TSTTPD at midnight and then we get the (Post Mortem edition) at 2 am. It takes two hours for rigor mortis to appear after death….
wastedpotential Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Have y'all been good Swiffies and ordered your CDs yet?

It was fixable when she did singles before the album, now it's impossible cuz you only get 1 single basically and if it falls, all falls. 1
omrimayo Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Post Mortem edition Sounds so good... if not for that, why we needed that coded sentence for a week? I don't get anything anymore...
