nnnn the way my first thought was that you were squeezing in Emily Poe lore here :gaycat7:

I'm staying strong and waiting until the official release to listen but going through a lot of this thread has been such a ride. I still don't really know exactly what to expect in spite of so many users' reactions :dies:

And there's still the three other bonus songs that no one has listened to yet which is exciting :sats:

I remember when Midnights surfaced the response was very lukewarm to outright negative (on here) and it's kind of sad to see that, from the pages I've read and the comments I've perused online, they are the same, if not, worse? I know quite a few of them would be negative out of sheer dislike for Taylor but still... I have a strong feeling I'm going to really like it, probably love it, but I got a little disheartened reading certain posts. In any case, my Black Dog vinyl shipped as did my Bolter special CD, my digital pre-order is going to start as soon as the clock strikes midnight, and I'll be heading to Target tomorrow morning to pick up the Albatross :jamming: Can't wait to finally hit play!

Only bitter HaveAGoodSummer's hate this album after their third or fourth listen I'm sorry I don't make the rules

By that point, if you're listening in good faith, it should've begun to grow

I can't determine whether you'll like it or not but I can tell you as someone who has been a fan of Taylor for over 15 years, I knew after my first listens of Midnights that it fell into the middle of her discography for me. I know after my initial listens of TTPD that I have an album gunning for my all time favorite release from her. It's an exquisite album, it's got lots of new sounds and experimentation from her, and seems to be bridging us towards a full soft rock album. The narrative and the lyricism are folklore + evermore talent mixed with Speak Now + Red public notoriety. The production is all the best parts of Red, reputation, folk+more, and Midnights all wrapped up in and blended into something new and exciting. It's a really natural blend of organic instruments and synths. And there are multiple career highlights on here, vocally, storytelling, etc.

The fact that they indirectly promoting the album lol I expect more people who are not even her fans will check the album. Bad publicity is still a publicity and the album is a grower

It's not a disaster, it's just not very interesting sonically, not much of an evolution, but hey the albums not even out yet and already the most presaved on Spotify so I don't think a lack of new soundscapes is keeping her or her label up at night

You know it's experimental record when it put people in divisive and they keep switching their opinions

I've loved reading through your comments as well as the music you've compared TTPD to! Getting me even more hyped :wanda:

Loving him was like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street.

Maybe Joe and Jake won't be limp if they were with each other.
