dreamofyou Posted April 18 Posted April 18 1 of my 5 orders dispatched and ready for the album tonight/tomorrow morning
DevilsRollTheDice Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Def not very instant for me. Interesting lyrics. Utterly gagged at how much Matty there is, sometimes I think that's how she truly twists the knife lol Early Trinity: 1.) Florida!!! 2.) WAOLOM 3.) Fortnight loml and BDILH are cute, too. SL,L is VERY different than I imagined and will take a lot of getting used to. Early album ranking is def somewhere...low. Very shocked that Midnights was more instant for me.

Have a nice day boy Let's not do this because I will get this thread locked again so chill. I just left my opinion in a professional manner and am already on my way out, so be polite or I will come back, you insincere lying ass stalker. I've written countless of positive things about your fave you delusional being. Edited April 18 by Kh-Loud 1 4

Kummercell Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Tell me why I spent yesterday thinking I Can Fix Him was a really short song only to find out I downloaded a glitchy file and it cut half of the song
YR. Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Easily one of her best albums ever. Anyone that says it sounds like MID is deaf or a loser (like me at my first listen) 5

Some of the songs aren't really like that - so, like, Florida!!! and I Can Fix Him, for example, don't fit that vibe. But a lot of the of the melodies and instrumentation on tracks like Fortnight could fit on any The 1975 album. In particular I'm getting bits and pieces of the energy of the album I mentioned in that post, their 2016 album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it. Some of the parallels that I'd draw aren't exactly ironclad, like how I think I Can Do It With A Broken Heart is sort of this album's answer to that albums track The Sound - not in narrative but in sound. Their whole thing, really, is the kind of midtempo synth pop that drives this entire album - though usually they have some rock elements as well, so this album reads like an intentionally more subdued take on the sound. I could probably articulate more specific, better examples with more time, but I very strongly believe that the sound of this album is an intentional parallel to their music because it's apparently largely about Matty. It's tough because I did sort of put the band on ice for a long time after the situation last year, since listening to them became uncomfortable. I actually hear it in the title track rn 1

Yes this is the dream I'm just so impressed how bombastic this album is at times. It's so dramatic and theatrical and I feel like WAOLOM is the very peak of that drama.
