SpeakNowTv Posted April 18 Posted April 18 i find Fortnight to be one of the least memorable tracks, i wouldn't have picked it as a single

Uncatena Posted April 18 Posted April 18 yeah this album doesn't have big or catchy hooks but I dont think that was ever the intention with the songwriting here...

Might switch after listening tomorrow in great quality but I doubt. WHAT was she thinking, all these slow ballads one after another. Jack's production is terrible and tired af on this one That said, But Daddy I Love Him is one of her best songs ever. It will truly shine tomorrow THANK YOU Aaron! Highlights: TTPD, So Long London, But Daddy I Love Him, Florida!!!, I Can Do It With a Broken Heart And that's kinda it idk "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me" is ME!th level of cringe btw. little me is not giving me! and you are straight up hater for giving that away 1
Taylor fanboy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Remember when we thought "Joe you're BONES" when in fact this album is "Matty your BONER". @selena_lavigne was planted by Taylor Nation as an easter egg after all. 7
Alex Posted April 18 Posted April 18 This album lyrically sounds like a manic episode (maybe that was the point) and it comes across as very wordy? Multiple moments in the album where I had no clue what she was saying fff I didn't connect with a lot of songs but I really liked i can fix him (no really i can) and broken heart so I will be taking those and running

We need an intervention. Do we lock her in a basement? We know we can't throw her in jail after this album. She won't get time. Help us help you Taylor.
Liafen Posted April 18 Posted April 18 i did not have this album being mostly about Ratty Healy in my TTPD bingo card (i crossed out some cringey lyrics though so I'm all good)

SpeakNowTv Posted April 18 Posted April 18 do you guys think the visuals match the sound this time? i think partially, for song like GAS or ICFH yeah, but for songs like ICDWABH absolutely not

I'll just wait until the album is officially released to come back and discuss it with actual stans cuz it might be the best record she's put out based on 3 listens. I mean people here can't grasp a simple fact like Fearless is a filler-free album and one of the best albums ever created, etc. Yeah these opinions should not be trusted. She had to make it for the tiktok girls who love Tayvis and will use it to make fan edits with LMAO
Kummercell Posted April 18 Posted April 18 The metallic/glitchy effect on her voice in the second part of The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived is a career highlight btw 1
greento Posted April 18 Posted April 18 On 4th listen, fortnight is so good. I can see why it's the lead. 1

I had The Alchemy very high up in my predictions. I am sad to say that it is probably in second to last spot in my rankings due to that mix of lyrics. Shame!

NordicGuy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 To me it feels like this album is to Midnights what evermore was to folklore. It takes many of the same sounds but takes them into a different, more experimental and abrasive direction. It's darker, heavier and more messy. It's like she's lashing out and doesn't care about form or hooks. She's just telling her story in the heat of the moment and I think that's really beautiful. Like she could've easily deleted But Daddy I Love Him after things went sideways with Matty and he actually turned out to be a sh*tty guy but she kept it because that's how she felt in that moment. Whether it ended up being right or not at least it was honest. 3
I'm JAVIng Fun Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Fortnight giving mixed reviews from people who have heard it is interesting to me I can't wait to listen to it for myself tomorrow and be amazed/disappointed by the looks of the reactions here.
