she should have released this in November though. Such a fall album and winter album.

I feel like But Daddy I Love Him gives a bit country vibe like a Your Still The One By Shania Twain.

If Fortnight is the lead, its her best lead single since the 1989 era.

The song is amazing.

The sequencing on this album is a mess, tbh. Taylor should be thankful everyone and their mother shuffles albums these days.

I felt it was mostly okay up until I Can Do It With A Broken Heart > Smallest Man

it felt like a whiplash going from arguably the poppiest to saddest sounding song on the album 😭 the rest flowed together decently imo

Isn't Beyoncé basically a shoe in for AOTY at this point?

At some points I think media overhype her but it's pretty clear people in the industry don't admire her that much they most likely know real teas behind the scene. I do believe voters not taking her artistry seriously, she's lucky to have great team tho. Ren was her best chance to win AOTY and it failed despite the promising trend of rewarding POC for past few years (Jon won AOTY with no commercial/critical appeal, H.E.R. won SOTY with song higlighting racism). Cowboy Carter is great album but it's bloated with unnecessary tracks that seem like out of places, and her remake of Jolene is tricky because people tend to attach to original version and this could backfire.

Some users in here bashing others for "ruining the album release day" when it still hasn't officially come out and y'all are listening to LQ leaks.

If y'all had to compare the album's sound to one previous mother song, what would it be :jonny2:

it's her most un-laidback since lover (lots of anger and frustration), evermore's lyricism, the melody is something new i can't describe it but if anything's close i'd say 1989?

Loml is beautifully written love the ryhmes and how she went from love of my life in the first chorus to loss of my life in the last one. Songwriter of our generation. I can forgive her that Puth line now. Its ok Mother you're forgiven.

I See. I guess CC has the smash single within Texas Hold 'Em. This makes me even more interested in what they will push as a single eventually.

Texas Hold'em isn't a big enough smash to give her good odds.  I believe it's a two week #1. Its a successful hit but you usually need a mega hit the size of Antihero, As it Was, Shake it off/Blank Space, Bad Guy.

There is a reason why they don't respect her artistry and it's not because of her great team or luck. You're so close.

Get into I Can Do It with a Broken Heart, too. It starts like Mastermind then turns into Bejeweled. A BOP.

Right now I'm bopping to Who's Afraid of Little Old Me.

If you don't like loml at this point you're completely tasteless. Sorry! It's a career highlight in terms of her songwriting.

Oh... my... god. The explosive chorus of I Can Do It with a Broken Heart.

The way I'll have switched by the time the album debuts on Spotify.

I know, my whole narrative is collapsing. The songs I'm enjoying the most are Hack-coded.

Looking at the reaction in this thread and Twitter I would say TTPD gets more positive reaction compared to Midnights. Majority criticism focus on that Charli part and it lacks of commercial sounds. This is way better than the initial meltdown we got for Midnights, from that karma issa cat drags to James Charles vocals to Vigilante S! weird inclusion in the album
