It's pure ear candy.

As a huge fan of moody 80's synthpop, it's hitting all the right spots.

yeah its very 80's synth throughtout but imagine if she added blinding lights max martin 80's synth that album would have been a masterpiece, sonically cohesive and maybe heralded some career-defining monster smashes. Oh well ...

Now I'm scared to ask this but.... Does Florence have actual vocals or did she get SOTB'd? :(

She sings at least half the song if not more

Bestie since you're like the only person here I trust with ear matters... do you think the self titled tracks were produced by #it or GOD?

I thought you were still taking the album in? But it seems like you already made up your mind on your ranking, so what's the truth?

This is MILES better than Midnights. If that won AOTY, this should get its own AOTD category. (Not that it's the album of the decade, more like MIDnights winning was... a choice.) It's a consistently great album with good melodies, maybe 1-2 tracks are a bit off for me but other than that really enjoyable. Her overcomplicated wording is starting to turn into a self-parody though - especially when they are followed by lines with the likes of Charlie Puth, I'm having his baby etc.

I still think her vocal delivery is bad with this album

So long london: All that youth I gave you for free

The voice shake sounds forced and like she's acting instead of sounding natural. It's just disappointing as Taylor is so good at this stuff usually

i still CAN'T tell if you are a swiftie or a OTH and you've been at it for years, truly bamboozled me

Them painting Midnights as a horrible album to deal with its success is my favourite thing ever :deadbanana2: Guess this is part 2, I haven't heard the album yet.

I don't understand the midnights slander. It is a great album full of bops :giraffe:

  • She drags Matty plenty in I can fix him (where she calls herself out for thinking that he can fix him and the jokes are referenced) and Smallest Man where she really goes after him.
  • Her point in the song isn't that people can't hate on her bf but her relationships are her business and also how the hatred actually initially brought them closer together.

loml is placed between the two songs since she realizes at the end   "I can fix him" that he actually just sucks so she goes back to grapplying with the of her relationship of Joe instead of sticking to the escapist rebound.

i meant the song daddy i love him, there she complain about how everyone criticized their rs but they were right, the song just sounds bitter with no point

My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys is a bop too. I dont get the hate and negative reactions. Knew it was the haters or jealous fans of other singers. So far so good could definitely see this winning album of the year again its really good. The bridge is insane. My first fav so far.

Yeah, someone called Chapel Hooker is definitely a huge swiftie, not a liddo trying to ruin the experience for actual swifties. Y'all did the same with Midnights then went into hiding when the 1st week numbers started rolling in.

you're kind of weird a bit to conflate my decade-old username with who I am a fan of these days. stan-wars have rotten parts of your brain if you genuinely think I would, based on my username, waste time in here to make people not enjoy this lmfao. but if you can't handle a praising opinion, you should reevaluate things imo.

if you were an ACTUAL atrl swiftie (half kidding here), you would've seen me stan her throughout the last few years. Midnights is my most played album of last year. I think she is the best living American songwriter. like... YES it's actually possible for a big fan to dislike a new release of hers, and that doesn't make your enjoyment of it any less.

This thread is a travesty, atm. I'll just wait until the album is officially released to come back and discuss it with actual stans cuz it might be the best record she's put out based on 3 listens.

I'm right here ready to have that conversation when you return, because you are absolutely right

I really think everything from Fresh Out The Slammer to The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived is for Matty :chick3:

I'm unsure on But Daddy I Love Him… but that could very well be a Matty track too.

honestly there were some joe haters when they were together so

Someone once told me it's asking a lot to expect ATRLers to think critically beyond the surface level.

I think I needed the full lyrics of the songs to really dive in into the album.

I think Antonoff. It's really hard to tell since they're kind of different from the rest of the record but some little quirks kinda give it away. MBOBHFT is single material.

Down bad is lyrically great. She is lyricinnnng...

swifties need to realise this album its just not as good, its not just hate, its a downgrade from folkmore, and i say this as an occasional fan, i think she needs to work with other producers and jack needs to stay away from both her and lana, this is crazy

Guilty as Sin should be a single. It would be massive on pop, HAC, AC, and triple AAA.
