Non "swifties" listening to the album first, even before stans, is giving obsessed fan behavior lol.

Even I am waiting to hear the official release. :coffee:

At least they spent the first pages crying that this is the worst thing they ever heard when they didn't have the time to listen to more than 5/6 songs and now the people that are actually listening to the album and engaging with it are the only one left. You can see the absolute change of tone between the two parts of this thread.

I am blown away by how good it is. I don't really know if I can call it her best pop album because yes the first quarter is pop but the rest is so much more. :jonny5:

All I can say is that my top 4 (evermore, Red, folklore and Speak Now) is taking a hit but I don't know how big of a hit. I think only evermore is safe but even then I'm not entirely sure, but I will not make a judgement too fast. Let me sit with the album a little.

Thank god the reactions here are better than the Swifty Neutral subreddit. I'm convinced it's mostly haters in that sub.

Honestly it's your fault for reading that. There is a subreddit of normal fans and they have a megathread discussing the album.

NOT ASKING FOR LINKS

Also, the threads created about the album by her haters are truly something else :bird:

They know they are shook and they think by trashing it as soon as possible they'll start a narrative that'll stick online.

if you're worried about the midnights restraint, you don't need to. this one is angry and emotional.

The way she sings on the verses on SLL is so Lana.

We still don't have the producer credits (at least I haven't seen them anywhere?) but assuming that Aaron produced But Daddy I Love Him, So Long London and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived he REALLY has grown as a producer since the 3AM tracks. These songs sound incredible and nothing like anything he's ever done before.

the way she sings "For a moment I was heaven struck"

I'm not listening until release but I'm reading all the reactions and I am DYING :jonny5:

Took a blow when someone called it Midnights 2.0 but now I'm right back up with hype, I'm not gonna survive these last 20 hours

I can't hold it in anymore. This is everything I've ever wanted from a Taylor album. It's amazing. This skyrockets into my top 3, and if I'm being candid it will by vying for #1 based on how it ages.

I think the choice of lyrics on the chorus feels very Travis… "touch down" is a big hint.

Begin Again has a thematic sister!

I just had the same reaction to that sub as you. It definitely appears to be mainly haters. I'm leaving lol

it sounds like evolution from Midnights so not a drastic change like people expected but it's different and def more emotional

I think there's an adjustment period that happens after the first full listen, it's a sonic shift for her into some climaxes and build ups and rage and frustration and candor that we're not entirely used to from her writing. I think this is the most forthcoming she's been about a lot of things in her music.. ever.
