Even I am waiting to hear the official release. At least they spent the first pages crying that this is the worst thing they ever heard when they didn't have the time to listen to more than 5/6 songs and now the people that are actually listening to the album and engaging with it are the only one left. You can see the absolute change of tone between the two parts of this thread. I am blown away by how good it is. I don't really know if I can call it her best pop album because yes the first quarter is pop but the rest is so much more. All I can say is that my top 4 (evermore, Red, folklore and Speak Now) is taking a hit but I don't know how big of a hit. I think only evermore is safe but even then I'm not entirely sure, but I will not make a judgement too fast. Let me sit with the album a little. 6
pinkbowvintage Posted April 18 Posted April 18 the fact I Can Do It With a Broken Heart is VERY LIKELY about her performing at Eras Tour is just...perfection

Honestly it's your fault for reading that. There is a subreddit of normal fans and they have a megathread discussing the album.
SpeakNowTv Posted April 18 Posted April 18 NOT ASKING FOR LINKS but has anyone heard The Bolter, The Manuscript or The Albatross yet?

Bartender Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Her Mariners Apartment Complex tease with the opening lyrics of the title track

NordicGuy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 We still don't have the producer credits (at least I haven't seen them anywhere?) but assuming that Aaron produced But Daddy I Love Him, So Long London and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived he REALLY has grown as a producer since the 3AM tracks. These songs sound incredible and nothing like anything he's ever done before.
AnitaFalafel Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I'm not listening until release but I'm reading all the reactions and I am DYING Took a blow when someone called it Midnights 2.0 but now I'm right back up with hype, I'm not gonna survive these last 20 hours
PoisonedIvy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I can't hold it in anymore. This is everything I've ever wanted from a Taylor album. It's amazing. This skyrockets into my top 3, and if I'm being candid it will by vying for #1 based on how it ages. 5 2

PoisonedIvy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I think there's an adjustment period that happens after the first full listen, it's a sonic shift for her into some climaxes and build ups and rage and frustration and candor that we're not entirely used to from her writing. I think this is the most forthcoming she's been about a lot of things in her music.. ever. 6
