Maroon legacy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 So Long, London But Daddy I Love Him Fresh Out the Slammer Florida!!! (Florence + the Machine) Guilty as Sin? Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me? I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) loml I Can Do It With a Broken Heart The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived this is like more than half of the album and this track run is crazy just by these titles. It's interesting to know which songs are actually not that iconic as they're titles. 'Cause when I saw the Midnights tracklist, Bejeweled was giving me rich fancy Old-Hollywood Getaway Car vibes... That's insane
joannna Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) when TTPD turns out to be an overworked disappointment with at least 8 fillers like Lover and the Midnights haters start appreciating Midnights for the monumental album that it is Edited February 12 by joannna 1

It’s not even remotely wordy and I can’t imagine anyone with working ears calling those songs melodyless. Whether they’re your cup of tea or not (which is valid either way) But also, TTPD is not going to be a Midnights 2.0, it’s time to let the hurt go Yes its most likely not Mids 2.0, but my fear could still come true - she really could fancy herself a poet and lyricist too much to focus on melodies and beats to create proper songs for the 21 century

But then she decided that the album is too good and started doing something unserious. I don't think that Question, Vigilante ****, Bejeweled and Karma are bad songs, no. I reeeally love 3 of them, but I don't really understand why can't she make the album like Melodrama (for example), where the vibe is present from start to finish. Just take ONE pen and write the whole album with it. I can understand why she went that way with Midnights, 'cause it was a comeback for Tour and we needed some bops, but I hope that with TTPD she can make the album which is not suddenly losing it's concept in the middle of it. And that's why we don't need really long albums. Just make it 11-13 tracks and then drop deluxe edition with extra 8 if you want to. Lover could be saved if it was a 13 tracks structured album with something like "damn it's 7am edition" instead of this 18 tracks mixtape. 2
cruelcooper Posted February 12 Posted February 12 She needs to release an immaculate 10-11 track album with no skips I’m now convinced TTPD will be a bloated mess. Hack’d to death. Her witness era finally coming. It’s over. 4
Maroon legacy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 1. Lavender Haze 2. Maroon 3. Anti-Hero 4. Snow on the Beach (ft. Lana Del Rey) 5. You’re on Your Own, Kid 6. Midnight Rain 7. The Great War 8. High Infidelity 9. Labyrinth 10. Would've Could've Should've 11. You're Losing Me 12. Sweet Nothing 13. Dear Reader And suddenly 13 sleepless nights are making much more sence 2

But when it's 13 tracks with 7 deluxe tracks that are only for streaming, that's totally fine
Lille Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The way I couldn't think of any fillers on Midnights, but only because I forgot that Question/Vigilante ****/Sweet Nothing even existed.
Dear Reader Posted February 12 Posted February 12 some of you are really not afraid of showcasing your horrid taste and takes 4
joannna Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Vigilante **** is top tier its my tears ricochet on crack. plus the Eras tour performance is her most iconic. the only fillers on Midnights are Glitch and Paris. 1
ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted February 12 ATRL Moderator Posted February 12 Vigilante **** kinda one of the worst songs of her career 1 2
Cleanromantic Posted February 12 Posted February 12 How is Glitch "melodiless"? Mastermind and Labyrinth are catchy too . 1
LostInStereo100 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve has grown on me so much this past week I’m shaking I saw a viral tiktok and it just clicked with me. TikTok really does work in mysterious ways sometimes I need this new album
cruelcooper Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Indisputable Mid skips: • …Question? • Vigilante **** • Labyrinth • Sweet Nothing • Mastermind* Spoiler * = disputable 2
MidnightsAtPeace Posted February 12 Posted February 12 yall worrying about TTPD being a bloated mess like Lover when it has the same amount of songs as both folklore and evermore, and those two albums are 100% skipless. in tayprincess we trust 2 6
MidnightsAtPeace Posted February 12 Posted February 12 also the only skips on Midnights are Paris, and occasionally Mastermind

That's insane I remember when Champagne Problems had the opposite effect From being one of the worst titles to one of the best songs
Safe&Sound Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Midnights seems like it can be separated to 4 EPs Pink glitters (The obvious radio hit ones) Lavender Haze Anti-Hero Question Bejeweled Karma Paris Maroon lips (The darker shade of the catchy pop sound, with lots of reverb, sound effect) Maroon Midnight Rain Vigilante Sh*t Labyrinth Dear Reader Dark Blue (The stripped, quieter sound of the album) Snow on The Beach Sweet Nothing Bigger Than The Whole Sky Dark Green (The evermore-ish, organic pop sound) YOYOK The Great War High Infedility Would've Could've Should've Can't put Mastermind in any box though It sounds weird 2
Safe&Sound Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Do you guys think if Bejeweled should be second single of Midnights instead of Lavender Haze? I love Lavender Haze, and surprised it didnt do well, especially its stream is currently under Midnight Rain But Bejeweled has TikTok effect back then and very catchy, very fun, which will be good opposite side after self-reflective Anti-Hero
Peroxide Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) 1. Dear Reader 2. Lavender Haze 3. Anti-Hero 4. Hits Different 5. Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve 6. Midnight Rain 7. Karma 8. Maroon 9. The Great War 10. Snow On The Beach 11. Mastermind 12. You’re Losing Me 13. You’re On You’re Own Kid And suddenly you have a much better album… Edited February 12 by Peroxide 2 1
