The Matty Healy inspirations the people here are discussing is disgusting me and my hype died. Wait sorry i keep confusing the songs still asdfghjk. I meant I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, NOT I Can Fix Him The latter sounds like Cowboy Like Me if Jack antonoff did it.
Rence Posted April 18 Posted April 18 After a few relistens I've decided this album won't be joining MIDnights in the bottom half of her discography
Kummercell Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) I Can't Do It With Escoliosis is kind of a dud but don't tell anyone Edited April 18 by Kummercell

GAGAISTHEBESTYA Posted April 18 Posted April 18 It really is her Ultraviolence when you think about it

PoisonedIvy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) This album is stunning. Gets better with every listen. Even songs I was a little neutral about on first listen have so many nuances that make the revisits more and more enjoyable each time Edited April 18 by PoisonedIvy 3

ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted April 18 ATRL Moderator Posted April 18 I do really enjoy the track with Florence! 2
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted April 18 ATRL Moderator Posted April 18 I've listened a couple of times and I'm really enjoying this. It was a lot to take in on the first listen, it's probably her wordiest album to date, but honing in on the lyrics the second time around really helped me get the full picture. It's messy and unhinged, but that's because she was a mess while writing it. You can tell she wrote these songs to vent and she needed to make this album to get it all out of her system, and I love that about it. It feels like something she had to get off her chest. Sound wise, the first 4 songs or so are too close to Midnights territory and I wish they branched out. Thankfully it gets better after that, and there's some slightly fresher stuff! Early standout: But Daddy I Love Him. Something about the way it's written reminds me of her Country days, but with modern production. And the lyrics are great, she kinda went in on the Swifties I also love I Can Fix Him, Who's Afraid of Little Old Me, Florida, The Smallest Man, and a few others. I'm happy with this album, it's not about to enter the top tier of her discography but it's really good and a nice addition to her catalogue!

PoisonedIvy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 The way some of these songs evolve and ascend to a climax by the final act is stunning. It's not a "streaming friendly" album but I'm happy about that honestly. Weed out the poptarts
PoisonedIvy Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I feel like there's a lot of influence from the 1975 in some tracks, which I honestly love lol.
Redstreak Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) The way I'm remembering melodies and lyric placements while reading posts even though I've only listened twice, the earworms this album has Edited April 18 by Redstreak

pinkbowvintage Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) did you hide her gun underneath our bed? it wasn't sexy once it wasn't forbidden and you deserve prison but you won't get time you didn't measure up in any measure of a man you kicked out the stage lights but you're still performing LYRICS.
