In my head TTPD is going to be a Florence-esque album with lots of ethereal elements abd poetic lyricism, especially How Big How Blue How Beautiful, which I think Taylor can easily pull off (not necessarily vocally buy she can easily make an album as great as HBHBHB)

Paris has different lyrics, it's like a dreaming pop song, not so campy

She won't do a lead single again, which is good because people will just preorder based on much they enjoyed Midnights.

Actually lead singles can sometimes slow down the momentum of an era if they're not that good, i definitely believe that's what happened with Lover, if Me!th wasn't the lead single it would've done even better.

I'm not one of the people that want this because I think MM's output for the past like 3 or 4 years is super blah, but the almost complete cutoff between the two of them is curious.

It can't even be about money, because if even flops like Conan Grey and Kim Petras can keep getting newly produced MM songs anyone can.

Probably fallout over the masters' shenanigans. I wouldn't be surprised if Martin screwed Taylor one way or another in relation to her status with BRM and Scooter. Maybe she found out he was saying **** behind her back, something to that effect

Tbh aside from maybe Ariana, other pop girls (Kelly, Britney, even Katy, etc.) would rather not work with him for some reason

He's probably not as awful as Dr. Luke but he's not someone you'd want to work with if you're not looking for a hit

isn't the rumor that maxy always wants songwriting credits for songs he produced, and taylor's not with it?

I did find it bizarre that Max gave production credits to Ariana for her lead single, but Taylor never received production credits on her songs with him.

Yes and no. Yes, he won’t produce on a song whose melody and lyrics are already written since those are his specialties.

But no, that isn’t the reason she doesn’t work with him anymore . When she mentioned that it was just in praise of Jack for being the producer on lover(song) without writing credit. It wasn’t a diss at Max Martin and plenty of her post rep songs are written to track so the producer would get writing credits automatically.

The main reasons are Max Martin is a much more constraining producer that doesn’t allow her to be as wordy as she likes among other things. He also isn’t a guaranteed hit maker right now ( see Katy, Ariana , Halsey etc).

She simply enjoys working with Aaron and Jack more and their albums keep on smashing so she doesn’t need max Martin .

When is the last time Max produced a hit for a pop girl? 2018? Exactly.

But at the same time she's now actually the most successful artist in the world. Whatever she's putting out, it's not gonna flop. You're Losing Me have 135 MILLIONS streams and it's just a From The Vault song that she randomly dropped 3 months ago and it's not even present on any edition of the album. If she put out the lead for TTPD before the album, it's gonna be huge anyway and when the album released she could push the 2nd single. The only reason for her not to drop a pre-release single is if she want to make only 1 single for this whole album (which I really doubt).
The only reason why she's not putting out a lead single is that she want to keep that status of "album artist" cemented. It's just about her way with music and her will to tell a story only in full. It's NOT about fear of flop, right now in this era she CAN'T flop, it's just impossible.

I mean, she already has an insane amount of pre orders. She could drop a variant every week and accumulate 1 million plus pre orders . Then she could release a single at the end of the month to push the album. Whatever it is will go #1. Just make sure it’s quality and been focus grouped by republic. Could release one of the more avant garde risky songs as a single. That could help push the album to a new demographic and it would def go #1. Then single #2 with album as something more radio friendly. There. 2 #1’s.

Then she could announce for international record day that indie stores will be getting a deluxe edition with bonus tracks.
