Bonicap Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I guess the new HITSDD article has already been shared here. * insert that gif with the face of certain british chanteuse *
Nintendoes Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Florida is the only good song in the entire album. It's probably due to the fact that Florence saved the song from being mid. 4

Mariah4life Posted April 17 Posted April 17 The Black Dog, But Daddy I Love Him and My Boy Only Breaks his Favorite Toy are the trio. Fight me
Club classic Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? needs to be a single, it's one of her best tracks brb crying to TSMWEL one more time
Gladiator Posted April 17 Posted April 17 3 minutes ago, pinkbowvintage said: not you listing a bunch of my favorite Taylor songs!! Those are my top songs. Obviously lots of others too like dancing with our hands tied but I'm in my car and I'm screaming !!!! I wanted an album full of these tracks and that's the vibe I have. It's like those songs meets some of the higher quality midnights production with the pen of folklore.
omrimayo Posted April 17 Posted April 17 HITS Daily Double on debut predictions for 'The Tortured Poets Department’: “[It's] is going to be big. Very big. Enormously big. Perhaps even frighteningly big…. Some insiders—who know their data—are speculating about blockbuster opening numbers that we're not even ready to share with you.” 1
Eóghan Posted April 17 Posted April 17 the most annoying thing about this album is that it's arguably better than MID-nights but her vocal delivery is a copy and paste from MID-nights which ruins it for me i can't win 2
Abracadabra Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Haven't heard anything yet but judging from the reactions it seems like it's a continuation from the same sound as Midnights. I'm not sure why every era now people are expecting this sudden progression or change in genre from her based on visuals or whatever, it was the same where everyone was saying Midnights would be 70's rock influenced or whatever because of the album cover. She's clearly found her niche as a songwriter in synth-pop and pop ballads and will probably continue with it for the foreseeable. Folklore and Evermore were kind of outliers in her discography.
kayliah Posted April 17 Posted April 17 are ther call it what you want type songs or cornelia street ?

swtamira Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Florida, so long london, guilty as sin and the smallest man who ever lived are where its AT. Overall i think unfortunately, its a stepdown from midnights, i'm sure songs will grow on me but also based on first listens i remember enjoying midnights more. It has hints of 1989 vault also. Lyrically its great as always, but i wish sonically she was more imaginative. Folklore was just so cool and unique so this compared to that when its not that long ago is kinda disappointing 1
RoyalT Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Couldn't really connect on the first listen. Florida, The Black Dog and I can do it - stood out. Will wait for Friday with the second one. 1
RideOrDie Posted April 17 Posted April 17 putting narcotics into all my songs and that's why you're still singing along... 3
Argent Posted April 17 Posted April 17 i feel like this is more evermore/midnights than folklore/midnights. just feels a bit more unhinged and like she doesn't give a single ****. fortnight is an odd choice for a lead tbh and i don't know if it works as an opener. it's a good song but not on the level of her usual openers. we'll see how this plays out! 1
shookgrande Posted April 17 Posted April 17 another back to back to back to back snoozefest but it will debut with 2M copies occupy the entire top 10 and somehow win AOTY so she wins as always 3 1
cruelhprince Posted April 17 Posted April 17 who's afraid of little old me? is the biggest gag of all time. I'm not kidding when I say it's one of her best songs. 4
