It's not a bad album, but it just feels unfinished at times. So many of the lyrics kind of make no sense, and not in a poor writing way, but in a way where she's purposely being vague. It's obvious in hindsight she had more to say but was stunted by the fact her and Joe didn't break up yet (despite being on the way out). Also I think she really wanted a pure pop album out so she could launch the tour. 

 

I hope this album retroactively gives some more context to Midnights.

Saw an interesting theory online. The Midnights cover has Taylor staring into the flame contemplating whether to burn the Lover house down. TTPD is then the aftermath of her doing so

Knowing her, she could wait two or three days after the Super Bowl to maximize the hype and release a new variant, after which she will release another at the end of February and another at the end of March. Assuming and granted that there will only be 4 variations (she could push to an opening of 2M and needs 5 variations to do so)

I really hope this is an exquisite soft rock album with tell all lyrics that just emphasizes on her singer songwriting abilities, something like what folklore and evermore showed so clearly. I know deep down Taylor still has her pop sensibilities though, and the songs will still be somewhat catchy. But I’m just sooo excited for something different. This is the first album in a long time that I don’t ask for synth pop or hits; she has “been there done that” especially with midnight’s recent smashery. Time to just go left field Taylor

Yeah I just saw this… oh this is the darkest day for me

 

At least we got the whole Midnights photoshoot in proper UHQ because it had one, but now we’re gonna be stuck with scans like with 1989 TV  at least it’s all in b&w so it’ll be easier to clean up scans I guess
